Dunamis Daily Devotional – A Destiny Of Excellence

Topic: A Destiny Of Excellence [Friday February 23, 2018]

Scripture: But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: 1 Peter 2:9

Thought For The Day: God has no other place for His people but the top.

One of the most important assets of anyone on earth is understanding one’s true identity in life. When people are not aware of their true identity, they become established in slavery.

From our anchor scripture, we understand that we have the heritage of the destiny of excellence as children of God. God has no other place for His people but the top.

People in Scriptures like Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Moses etc. were people who existed at the top.

Identity is important for two major reasons:
a) Identity affects destiny. Until you know who you are, you cannot become who you are meant to be in life.
b) Identity affects authority. People are more authoritative when they realize who they truly are.

What then is our destiny of excellence?
1. We are destined for excellence by Creation
During creation in Genesis 1:26-28, God put man in charge of everything he created

2. We are destined for excellence by the Covenant
As long as we are the seed of Abraham by covenant, we are in charge of nations as kings and territorial commanders; our destiny is above only (Genesis 17:6).
3. We are destined for excellence by Redemption
Jesus Christ died so that we can excel (Ephesians 4:6). Everywhere you find yourself, refuse to be in any position but the top.

Remember This: God has no other place for His people but the top.

Assignments:

1. Refuse to live in mediocrity
2. Endeavour to study the lives and principles of people in scriptures and how they succeeded, then follow their steps.

Prayer: O LORD, I ask that You open my eyes to the Truth in Your Word. Help me to live in excellence always, LORD, in Jesus’ Name.
