Depart From Iniquity ~ Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor

Topic: Depart From Iniquity [Saturday May 20, 2017]

“Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The LORD knoweth them that are His. And, let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.” (1 Tim. 2:19)

Do you think everyone you see in the church is a Christian? I still remember the day, several years ago, before I gave my life to Christ when my friend and I just felt like visiting a church. So we left for one. On getting there, it turned out that we had arrived too early. After waiting for a while I said to my friend, “Let me just go to the back of this church building and do one wrap of dope.” And I did just that. When I was through, I went back into the church where my friend was waiting for me, sat in the front row, and in a short while, the service started. Beloved, I had just doped but I was in the church.

It is incontrovertible that not all the people we see in church are God’s people. Nevertheless, God desires to make them all His people. He wants to be their Father and He wants them to call Him their God. He is saying to all who lay claim to being of Christ but still have an issue or two to settle in their lives to depart from iniquity.

The Almighty God will have me tell you today that if you are in the church but sleeping, you should wake up from your slumber because judgment will begin from the church. Be wise. Don’t be a cheap captive of iniquity.

I command the grace to be a true Christian to come on your life.

Word of Wisdom: He wants to be your Father; make Him.

Prayer/Confession: Lord, have mercy on me. In anyway I have fallen short of your glory, please forgive me. Father, You desire to be my God and I desire to be one of your people. Make me Your child today, in Jesus name! Amen!!
