Topic: From Slavery To Royalty [Wednesday March 22, 2017]
“And he said, come with me, and see my zeal for the Lord.” (2 Kings 10:16)
God gave Jehu in 2 Kings 9 an instruction to completely wipe out Ahab’s house completely. In Chapter 10, God impressed in his heart to wipe out all the Baal worshippers in Israel. In 2 Kings. 10:16, Jehu told those with him to come and see his zeal for God. In subsequent verses, he killed all the worshippers of Baal, broke down the image of Baal, and burnt them up. For his efforts, in 2 Kgs. 10:30, “the LORD said unto Jehu, Because thou hast done well … thy children of the fourth generation shall sit on the throne of Israel.” (2 Kings 10:30).
Jehu was a slave in Israel but because of his zeal, God made him a promise. God told him that he would ensure that for four generations after him, Jehu’s children would rule over Israel. God was saying, in other words, “I know you were a slave but because of your zeal for my house, I cancel slavery from you and your generation and make you king over Israel.” Only God does that!
God will only do it when you have a fire burning on the altar. You have hope. You still have the chance to light up your fire. Wherever your zeal is, go and collect it. As you burn for God, the God I serve will locate you wherever you are, in the name of Jesus!
As you allow your fire to burn, in the name of Jesus, God will remove slavery and servitude from your life and from your family. He is crowning you with kingship. Go and reign in life.
WORD OF WISDOM: Only God takes a slave and makes him a king.
PRAYER/CONFESSION: In the name of Jesus, Father, let no one be able to take away anything You have given me, and let no one be able to spoil anything you have done for me.
