Kenneth Copeland – Don’t Underestimate Your Prayers

Topic: Don’t Underestimate Your Prayers [Monday August 14, 2017]

I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; for kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. – 1 Timothy 2:1-2

That verse is clear, isn’t it? The instruction is plain. Yet even in these tumultuous days when our nation is so desperately in need of God’s guidance, most of God’s people don’t do what that verse commands.

Why not?

I believe it’s because most of us are overwhelmed by the problems we see around us. How could my prayers make a dent in the national debt? we think. How could my faith affect foreign policy?

In other words, we fail to pray because we fail to realize just how powerfully our prayers can affect this country.

It’s time we caught hold of that. It’s time we realized that if we’d just be obedient to 1 Timothy 2:1-2, there’s no council of any kind on earth, no king, no president, no congress, no anything that could overthrow God’s purpose for His people.

God has called us to intercede. He has commanded us to pray for those in authority. He has given us His Word, His power, His Name, His authority and His faith. We have all the tools necessary to pray effectively for our government and its leaders.

I urge you to intercede. It is your responsibility as a believer to get involved in the affairs of your country. God wants this great land of ours, and the only way He’s going to get it is through His ambassadors—you and me.

Pray for your nation. Every day. And never again underestimate the world-changing power of those prayers.

Dr. Mike Okonkwo – You Belong To An Unshakable Kingdom

Topic: You Belong To An Unshakable Kingdom [Monday August 14, 2017]

“Do you see what we’ve got? An unshakable kingdom! And do you see how thankful we must be? Not only thankful but brimming with worship, deeply reverent before God.” Hebrews 12:28 (MSG)

All over the world, nations are seeking answers to unending questions. Even the economies that seemed stable at some point, are having to reevaluate themselves. The world is in a state of turmoil. And there seem to be more questions than answers. However, in all of this, the Bible tells us that the unshakable kingdom is ours. Therefore, our attitude in this should be one of sincere gratitude and worship to God, who has given us the victory. While the world is running helter-skelter, looking for some form of stability, we are standing firmly upon a rock that can never be shaken. Yes the seas may rage, as they already are, but we know the One who rules over the raging sea; He stills the waves when they arise, and by this, I am assured, that whatever storm is raging in your life, shall be silenced in Jesus name.

Don’t put up with the lie of the enemy that the situation will drown you. No, you will, without fail, rise above it. The enemy specialises in creating illusions. He uses the circumstances in your lives to paint a false image of a God who is backed to the wall. But may I submit to you that your God is not backed to the wall, and He is not in trouble. He is the Almighty. 1 John 4:17 clearly tells us that as He is, so are we in this world. Therefore, we have also seated above in Christ, far above whatever situations and circumstances we encounter.

You will certainly testify. When men say there is a casting down, you shall say there is a lifting up. God will come through for you. You shall not be disappointed. You shall not see shame. Every mountain before you shall be made plain. And your valleys shall be filled. Be conscious of the fact that you belong to a kingdom that can NEVER be shaken.

DCLM Daily Manna – True Friendship

Topic: True Friendship [Monday August 14, 2017]

Text: 1 Samuel 20:35-42

Key Verse: “And Jonathan said to David, Go in peace, forasmuch as we have sworn both of us in the name of the LORD, saying, The LORD be between me and thee, and between my seed and thy seed for ever. And he arose and departed: and Jonathan went into the city” (1 Samuel 20:42)

Charles R. Swindoll, a notable American preacher and writer, said, “I cannot even imagine where I would be today were it not for that handful of friends who have given me a heart full of joy. Let’s face it, friends make life a lot more fun.” Swindoll is right. A little trip down memory lane will show you how good friends have amazingly responded when you needed them most. They provided a shoulder to lean on and opened doors you were too weak to open yourself.

The Bible passage today, centres on the story of two loving and devoted friends: David and Jonathan. It was a painful story of their separation at a critical time in their young lives. Jonathan had just discovered the seriousness of the hatred that his father had for David. Saul wanted David dead by all means and Jonathan wanted his friend alive. He had to make a choice between listening to his father’s murderous demand and allowing his friend to escape. He chose the latter.

Consequent upon this decision, David went into hiding while Jonathan returned to the royal court. The friendship between David and Jonathan is an instructive lesson for all. In spite of the wide difference in their social status, Jonathan went all out to support his friend. Jonathan wanted the will of God to come to pass in the life of David and he cooperated radiantly with him. He did not mind his father’s reaction even when he knew that David’s enthronement would jeopardise his chances of becoming a king in Israel. Unlike Joseph’s brothers who wanted to truncate Joseph’s dreams, we must cooperate with our brothers, sisters and neighbours to actualise their God-given dreams.

That is how to be a good friend. We must love our neighbours as ourselves; do good to them that despise us and be perfect as our Heavenly Father is perfect. The beauty of it all is that when you become a good friend to someone, you are likely going to find a good friend waiting for you too in your time of need.

Thought for the day: He who labours to be good to others will equally attract good unto himself.

Open Heavens – There Shall Be No Barrier

Topic: There Shall Be No Barrier [Monday 14, August 2017]

Memorise: There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee. – Joshua 1:5

Read: Zechariah 4:6-9 (KJV)

6 Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.

7 Who art thou, O great mountain? before Zerubbabel thou shalt become a plain: and he shall bring forth the headstone thereof with shoutings, crying, Grace, grace unto it.

8 Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

9 The hands of Zerubbabel have laid the foundation of this house; his hands shall also finish it; and thou shalt know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me unto you.

Bible in One Year: 2 Kings 12-13; Ezekiel 24:1-14, Hymn: Sing hymn 1: My Faith Looks Up To Thee

Open Heavens 14th Monday, August 2017 Message:

The Lord spoke the words of today’s memory verse to Joshua at a very crucial time in his life. Moses, the man of God, had just departed and handed over the baton of spiritual and political leadership of Israel to him. Obviously, this was a very scary thing for Joshua. Having been the servant of Moses, he knew the severity of the spiritual assignment ahead. He also had firsthand experience of the several episodes of political intrigue and multiple rebellions against his master. Joshua least expected the leadership mantle to fall on him, since there were (at least) seventy elders ahead of him, most of whom he esteemed to be better suited as political leaders compared to himself. There was also the family of priests, members of which he reckoned to be more experienced for the spiritual leadership of Israel. Nevertheless, although age, experience and maturity may not have favoured him, it still pleased the Lord to appoint him as the replacement of Moses; and knowing Joshua’s fearful state of mind, He therefore spoke those words of assurance to encourage and embolden Him in his new assignment. I pray for you today, you will receive divine support and assurance that will propel you to success in Jesus’ Name.

Today, God is telling you that there shall be no barrier to your promotion, success and breakthrough. God has the power to make such declarations about you because He is the Creator of the heavens and the earth, and He is the Author and Finisher of your faith. All powers in heaven and on earth belong to Him, and His word is Yea and Amen. Numbers 23:19 says this about Him:

“God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?”

We have assurance in the word of God that God is able to bring whatever He says to reality. I therefore encourage you to rely on His promise to you, knowing well that He is the Creator of all things – whether visible or invisible, all things were created by Him and for Him (Colossians 1:16).Furthermore, you also have reasons to believe strongly that there shall be no barrier to the fulfilment of your destiny because of His mighty acts both in history and even now. He is the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the Holy One of Israel, who delivered the Israelites from 430 years of captivity. He parted the Red Sea and provided manna in the wilderness. He is the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, our Saviour and Redeemer, who heals, delivers and raises the dead. May His Name be praised forever.

Prayer Point:

Father, please speak a word of support and assurance into my life today that will send jitters down the spine of my enemies and detractors in Jesus’ Name.

Ocee Ft. Solomon Lange – How Excellent

Ocee releases a new single titled How Excellent, featuring Solomon Lange

How excellent is a song written by her Pastor Rev. Ayoola Abolade. As a child and teenager worshiping with Elshaddai Cathedral Jos, he used to write songs that they performed together in church, with the choir and sometimes in the studio. His songs took her through hard times, peer pressure and built her spiritually. Now many years down the line she discovered that if those songs blessed her in those times then it can bless someone now! How excellent talks about the greatness of God. The works of Gods amazing art!

Ocee, born on August 12th, is a Gospel minister married with 3 lovely kids. A lover of God who has come with her debut single “How Excellent” which features one of Nigeria’s finest gospel minister, Solomon Lange (the popular Na Gode crooner).

The song was originally written by her Pastor, Rev Ayoola Abolade but remixed by Ocee in wc she featured Solomon Lange. How excellent was produced by Nigeria’s fast rising music producer TUC (The Undisputed Champion) for Fisty World Entertainment.

This song is her way of Glorifying God for adding another year to her life today 12th August

Godstime – Onye Omiko [The Compassionate One]

Godstime E. Okorie who is popularly known as Minister Godstime releases yet another soul lifting song titled ONYE OMIKO.

Onye Omiko” is an Igbo epithet which vividly announces God as “The Compassionate One”. The song expresses Worship and Praise to the One who is amazingly compassionate.

This song draws inspiration from Psalms 103:2-6,8, 11-14 and 111:2-4 NIV.

God is moved by His compassion to invite Jesus into our lives and needs. Like a river of love, God’s compassion flows to the lowest situation in our lives, our greatest needs, our greatest weaknesses and our greatest failures. Whatever we lay low before the Lord will receive His attention and response. God gives grace to the humble. His strength is made perfect in our weaknesses. His compassion never ends…it never fails. It is unfathomable, indestructible and dependable.

This song was produced and mixed by Oluwa Drumma.

Joyce Meyer – The Key To Fulfillment

Topic: The Key To Fulfillment [Sunday August 13, 2017]

Now therefore thus says the Lord of hosts: Consider your ways and set your mind on what has come to you. – Haggai 1:5

God has a great big, wonderful, fulfilling life planned for you and me, but if we are stubborn (see Exodus 33:3) or hard-hearted, then we will miss what He has for us. Stubbornness and refusal to hear and obey God’s voice keeps us set in our ways and unable to make progress. When we find ourselves in this condition, we often fail to stop and ask ourselves what the problem is.

Today’s verse recounts a time when God’s people were dissatisfied and experiencing many problems, so God told them to consider their ways. Many times when people are not fulfilled in life, they look everywhere except within themselves to find the reason. If you are unfulfilled in your life, do as God told the Old Testament people to do and “Consider your ways.” Ask God to speak to you about “your ways,” and pay attention to what He says. I have had to do this many times, and I have had to make changes in my thinking, my motives, or my behavior as a result. As I considered my ways over time, I found I was stubborn, hardheaded, opinionated, proud, and many other things that kept me from making progress. But, thank God, He has changed me! I pray He keeps on changing me and never stops.

I want everything God wants me to have and nothing He doesn’t. I belong to Him and so do you. He wants you to have a happy, blessed, wonderful life, full of satisfaction and fulfillment. If you aren’t living that kind of life, take time to consider your ways; ask God to show you what needs to change; and then do what He tells you to do.

God’s word for you today: Don’t be afraid to face the truth about yourself, because it sets you free.

DCLM Daily Manna – I Will See You Again

Topic: “I Will See You Again” [Sunday August 13, 2017]

Text: John 16:12-22

Key Verse: “And ye now therefore have sorrow: but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no man taketh from you” (John 16:22).

In 2009, a film titled Hachi: A Dog’s Tale was premiered. The film was based on the true story of a faithful dog called HachikM, born in Japan, in 1923. After the death of its owner, HidesaburM Ueno, in 1925, HachikM returned to the Shibuya train station the next day and every day after that for the next nine years. The dog eventually died in March 1935.

The dog waited for its owner for nine years. Why? Because he believed his owner was coming back. Our text today reaffirms the promise of the Lord Jesus to come back to the earth. He told His disciples with confidence that He would see them again. He had earlier explained some of the functions of the Holy Spirit in preparing them for the task ahead. He told them that the Holy Spirit would guide them into all truth, speak from Him and glorify Him.

From the passage, we understand that it is the Holy Spirit that illuminates and inspires us to believe the Truth (Christ). He also does not speak of His own authority but reveals to us what Christ reveals to Him. As children of God, we must believe everything the Bible teaches us as the revealed truth. We must also surrender ourselves to the guidance of the Holy Spirit in all our endeavours in life.

This is the wise way to prepare for the coming of the Lord. He promised to come again and He will. The unusual faithfulness of a dog should wake up every slumbering soul. The consciousness of His coming should make us better in our relationships with people, careful in our conduct and prayerful in our outlook. His second coming is for the prepared few. Only the wise and watchful will rejoice on the day of His appearing.

Thought for the day: Believe it or not, Jesus is coming back soon!

Dr. Mike Okonkwo – No Man Will Steal Your Destiny

Topic: No Man Will Steal Your Destiny [Sunday August 13, 2017]

“And it came to pass, as he drew back his hand, that, behold, his brother came out: and she said, How hast thou broken forth? this breach be upon thee: therefore his name was called Pharez.”Genesis 38:29 (KJV)

The story in our Bible reading today is very interesting. There is so much I can say about it. But today, I have come to announce to you that No man will still your destiny. In the Old Testament, one of the things midwives will not play with is identifying the 1st child. This is because, even as twins, the first one that comes out takes the double portion reserved for the 1st born. With this in mind, at the time of delivery the women were very vigilant and suddenly, right before their eyes, Zarah’s hand came out so a scarlet thread was tied around his wrist giving him the mark of the 1st born, but then the unthinkable happened, Zarah drew back his hand and Pharez came forth. Stop and think about it, does it not happen at times. You have evaluated a situation and you think you have it all together and suddenly the unexpected happens.

Beloved, there are times in the race of life, that Zarah shows it face in an attempt to take that which belongs to you. But I have come to declare to you that in Christ, you have the right of the 1st born. You are in Christ; the double portion is available to you and the devil will not steal it from you. No matter how many “Zarahs” run ahead of you, you will burst forth like Pharez. Zarah gave a false representation that almost denied Pharez of the right of the firstborn, but God came through. I declare over your life that no Zarah will stop you. You will burst from the left to the right and you will fulfil purpose in Jesus’ name. All destiny thieves like Zarah are stopped in Jesus’ name. Every plan of God for your life will manifest in Jesus’ name. I will hear your testimony.

Kenneth Copeland – Heart To Heart

Topic: Heart To Heart [Sunday August 13, 2017]

For who has known or understood the mind (the counsels and purposes) of the Lord so as to guide and instruct Him and give Him knowledge? But we have the mind of Christ (the Messiah) and do hold the thoughts (feelings and purposes) of His heart. – 1 Corinthians 2:16, The Amplified Bible

Isn’t it exciting to realize that you can hold the thoughts and feelings and purposes of God’s very own heart in your heart? Isn’t it thrilling to know the Creator of heaven and earth wants to be one spirit with you and transmit His thoughts to your mind?

First Corinthians 6:17 says that when you were joined to the Lord you became one spirit with Him. He came into union with you so that He can talk to you heart to heart. God wants you in this harmony with Him so that His thoughts can become your actions. He wants you to walk so closely with Him that you never lack power to overcome the evil of this world. He wants you to be so in tune with His Spirit that you are able to feel His heart of compassion toward those around you who are hurting or bowed down with sickness and pain. He wants to be one with you, so He can reach out through your hands and fulfill His purposes in the earth.

Make a fresh commitment today to walk in union with your God. Give your attention to His Spirit in your inner man. Determine to yield to His voice and not to the voices of the world or the flesh!

Allow the mind of Christ to flow through you!

Andrew Wommack – Focus On The Things Above

Topic: Focus On The Things Above [Sunday August 13, 2017]

John 11:44 “And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go.”

JOHN 11:44

Symbolically, Lazarus is like many Christians. The Bible speaks of us passing from death unto new life when we get born again. But it is also true that in the physical and emotional realm, we bring our “graveclothes” from our old life with us (i.e. habits, attitudes, etc.), and we need to be “loosed” to fully enjoy our new life.

Our emotions and attitudes follow what we think. When we focus our attention on our problems, they are magnified out of proportion. When we neglect our problems and think on God’s provision, the answer is magnified and the problem shrinks. Whatever we think upon is going to dominate us. If we think on depressing things, we’ll be depressed. If we think on uplifting things, we’ll be uplifted. If we think, “by His stripes, we are healed”, we’ll be healed. If we think on sickness, we’ll be sick.

Godly contentment isn’t dependent upon circumstances. That is totally opposite of the way most people think today. No one really desires depression but very few feel any responsibility or authority to maintain positive emotions in the face of negative circumstances. They think emotions follow circumstances. That’s not true. Emotions follow the way we think, and we can chose to think on things that are lovely, true, of good report, and so forth regardless of our circumstances. As we think, is how we respond emotionally.

Focus your attention on the invisible truths of the spiritual realm that are eternal, instead of the visible things of this physical world that will pass away.

Dunamis’ Daily Devotional – Faithfulness-The Habitation Of The Blessing

Topic: Faithfulness – The Habitation Of The Blessing [Sunday August 13, 2017]

Scripture: A faithful man shall abound with blessings: but he that maketh haste to be rich shall not be innocent. Proverbs 28:20

Thought For The Day: A faithful Christian will see more favour with God than an unfaithful Christian.

Faithfulness means undivided loyalty and submission, absolute commitment, consistency of character, trustworthiness or dependability. It also means performance according to expectation.

Faithfulness is one of the rarest virtues on the face of the earth (Proverbs 20:26). Nevertheless, the truth is, there are faithful men (Daniel 6:4). It is important to know that faithfulness is one of the most rewarding virtues on earth. A faithful wife will get more favour from her husband than an unfaithful wife. A faithful Christian will see more favour with God than an unfaithful Christian.

It is also important to know that the pain of unfaithfulness is one of the worst pains on earth. When a man or woman discovers that his/her spouse is unfaithful, the pain of it is indescribably unbearable. That shall never be your portion in Jesus’ Name.

Now, our anchor scripture has made us to understand that a faithful man or woman will abound with the blessing. Therefore, if you want to abound with the blessing, be faithful in doing the following:

  1. Your devotion to God; studying of the Bible, prayers, etc.

  2. Your giving; tithing, offering, touching lives positively. Your giving is a proof of your love to God (John 3:16).

  3. Evangelism – soul winning.

  4. Kingdom service. Do not just sit in church doing nothing.

  5. Your duty.

  6. Your spouse. Any man or woman who is not faithful to his/her spouse is cursed.

  7. Your calling. Be faithful to your assignment in God.

To be blessed is to be empowered to succeed. A blessed person cannot be resisted by the devil; he cannot be cursed, and faithfulness is a major key to the blessing.

Remember this: A faithful Christian will see more favour with God than an unfaithful Christian.

Assignment(s):

  1. Read today’s study again and take note of the things you need to be faithful in doing.

  2. Remain faithful even when the devil or people give you reasons to be unfaithful.

Open Heavens – Captives Of The Mighty

Memorise: If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed. – John 8:36

Read: John 5:1-9 (KJV)

1 After this there was a feast of the Jews; and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.

2 Now there is at Jerusalem by the sheep market a pool, which is called in the Hebrew tongue Bethesda, having five porches.

3 In these lay a great multitude of impotent folk, of blind, halt, withered, waiting for the moving of the water.

4 For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had.

5 And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years.

6 When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole?

7 The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me.

8 Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk.

9 And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked: and on the same day was the sabbath.

Bible in One Year: 2 Kings 10-11; Ezekiel 23:35-49, Hymn: Sing hymn 4: Through The Love Of God Our Saviour

Open Heavens 13th Sunday, August 2017 Message:

The reason why many people are so helpless in life today is because they are in captivity. Many are in the bondage of sin, sickness, poverty, addition, demonic possession and other evil conditions. The resultant effects of captivity include loss of freedom, psychological imbalance, and emotional trauma, loss of contact with loved ones, hopelessness and dejection. A captive is a person with a lost identity. Such a person may have been royalty before being captured by the enemy, but he or she has become a slave and must now live at the mercy of his or her new owner. A captive loses dignity and suffers from low self-esteem and emotional trauma from thinking about the situation that led to his or her captivity. A captive is in a worse situation than an ordinary prisoner because a prisoner’s jail term is fixed, but a captive has no hope of being set free. Above all, the situation of a captive is hopelessly filled with regret. The big question is, can a captive find true freedom? The Holy Spirit answers this question in Isaiah 49:24-25

24 Shall the prey be taken from the mighty, or the lawful captive delivered? 25 But thus saith the LORD, Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered: for I will contend with him that contendeth with thee, and I will save thy children.”

Hallelujah! A captive can indeed be set free. Jesus in Luke 4:18 declared that He came to set the captive free:

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,”

I bring you good news today: no matter how difficult your experience in captivity has been, and no matter how heavy the chain of your affliction is, JESUS is here to set you free!  Jesus Christ is the promised Messiah, Redeemer and Deliverer, sent to set everyone who will accept Him as the Lord and Saviour of their lives from the bondage of Satan, the world and the flesh. What is your problem? Are you operating under the powerful grip of a secret sin, sexual immorality, a secret society, a blood covenant or any form of addition? Jesus, in John 8:36, has those words for you:

“If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.”

Jesus came to set the captives free; call on His Name for your deliverance now!

Prayer Point: Lord Jesus, Please manifest your power to set me free from every form of captivity I am experiencing today.
