DCLM Daily Manna – Shining As Stars

Pastor W. F. Kumuyi

DCLM Daily Manna 21 April 2024 Devotional By Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Shining As Stars

TOPIC: Shining As Stars (DCLM Daily Manna 21 April 2024)

KEY VERSE: “And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever” (Daniel 12:3).

TEXT: Daniel 12:1-3 (KJV)

1 And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.

2 And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.

3 And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.

MESSAGE:

In a piece contributed by Sermon Central on the Tale of the Star, it is stated that Eusebius, a scholarly church historian of the early fourth century, evidently made a considerable study of the literature available to him and came to this conclusion about the star: “The star was new and a stranger among the usual lights of heaven, a strange star, not one of the many known stars, but being new and fresh.” Although the tale refers to the star that announced the birth of our Saviour, it also illustrates God’s glory that will be bestowed on faithful believers at the end of life.

Just as stars shine brightest in the darkest of nights, so are the beauties and the qualities of the Christian life best revealed in their darkest moments. Human history is full of many such scenes. During the Holocaust, there were many kind-hearted Christians who at the risk of their lives, helped to rescue and hide scores of Jews until they were brought to safety. Some even paid the ultimate price while trying to help others.

Our passage projects into the coming glory for believers after labouring here and standing faithfully to the end. While we await this glorious culmination, hard times and intense opposition will come but we must remain resolute and resilient in our faith as we continue to demonstrate the love of God to people around us.

We must not allow present-day hardships and difficulties to shut our mouths from preaching the gospel or weaken our hands from doing good to others. We need also to support gospel campaign efforts through prayer and financial contributions. This is the secret of the wisdom and shining as stars that our passage teaches today. Are you ready to pay the price to shine as stars?

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Labour faithfully to shine as stars.

TREM Devotional – As Christ Is, So Are You

Bishop Mike Okonkwo

Wisdom For The Day Devotional 20 April 2024 By Bishop Mike Okonkwo – As Christ Is, So Are You

TOPIC: As Christ Is, So Are You (TREM Devotional 20 April 2024)

“Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.” 1 John 4:17 (KJV)

MESSAGE:

Beloved, as Christ is, so are you. The measure of Christ’s acceptance with God is the measure of your acceptance. What Jesus is before God is who you are before Him. You are well. You are rich. You are at rest. You are full of power. You are successful. You must believe it. Believe that the perfection, the delight, and the joy that Jesus brings to the Father is now imputed to you. It has been put on your account. Christ and you are one. You must accept this truth.

The Book of John 15:9 says, “As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you…” (KJV). The same measure of love is what God has towards you. Continue well in His love. The irrevocable, irreversible, unconditional, blood-bought, iron-clad, extravagant, and excessive love of God for you does not change.

The Book of John 17:18 says, “As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.” (KJV). The same way God sent Jesus is the way He has sent us to the world. The same scripture goes further to say: “And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth. Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe…that they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one;…” John 17:19-23 (KJV).

The glory which the Father gave to Him, He gave to us. Not that He will give to us, but that He has given us. You carry glory. When you accept who He has made you, you become so powerful.

Seeds Of Destiny Devotional – Changing Your Seasons Of Life

Seeds Of Destiny Devotional

Dunamis Seeds Of Destiny 20 April 2024 Devotional By Dr. Paul Enenche: Changing Your Seasons Of Life

TOPIC: Changing Your Seasons Of Life (Seeds Of Destiny 20 April 2024)

SCRIPTURE: And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father’s have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger! Luke 15:17.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: A change of sense is a change of season.

MESSAGE:

It has been confirmed that a change of sense is a change of season. You are not where you are because the devil is too powerful; you are where you are because of your mind-set.
Like the prodigal son, if you come to your senses, you must come to your changes. The season of poverty and lack in the life of the prodigal son changed when his senses changed. When he came to his senses, he came to his changes.

In July 2007, as a church, we had a massive crusade at the Abuja stadium, and the place was filled with people.

In the month of August of the same year, we did another crusade at the same stadium, and did another one in the month of September.

The rain fell on us on two of the occasions. The government in power at the time said they would not give the facility to church anymore for subsequent crusades. Right there, I made an announcement to the people that we would build our own stadium, and that in our stadium, the rain will not fall on us because there would be roof over our heads. I told them that we would build something bigger than that stadium.

That was what a Spirit-inspired mind said. And in a short while, it came to pass by the building of the Glory Dome. The Lord built it for Himself.

Beloved, it can only become a reality in your life if it crosses your mind. If it is not in your mind, you cannot find it in your life.

I decree that God shall cause great things to cross your mind into your life in Jesus’ Name.

REMEMBER THIS: A change of sense is a change of season.

ASSIGNMENTS:

  1. Like the prodigal son, change your season by changing your mind-set.
  2. Ask God for a productive mind to live a productive life.

PRAYER: Father, I ask for a productive mind-set. Let my seasons change positively as my mind experiences positive transformation, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

QUOTE: It is only a man with a poverty mentality that gets three million naira, for instance, and out of it purchases a car of 2.8 million naira. And to him, he has arrived.

AMAZING FACT: The wings of the airplane are just one component of flight. There are actually four forces of flight that push the plane up, down, forward, or slow it down. These four forces of flight are lift, thrust, drag, and weight.

DCLM Daily Manna – A Day Like No Other

Pastor W. F. Kumuyi

DCLM Daily Manna 20 April 2024 Devotional By Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — A Day Like No Other

TOPIC: A Day Like No Other (DCLM Daily Manna 20 April 2024)

KEY VERSE: “And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works” (Revelation 20:12).

TEXT: Revelation 20:11-15 (KJV)

11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.

12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.

14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

MESSAGE:

In a sermon on “The Signs of Divine Judgment” preached recently, Pastor Matthew Kratz narrates the following story that sounds the alarm on the inescapable approaching day of judgment: ”A Scottish lawyer was a wicked man. Once, he hired a horse and, either through accident or ill-usage, killed the animal. Naturally, the owner insisted on being paid its value, together with some compensation for the loss of its use. The man of law acknowledged his liability and said he was perfectly willing to pay, but at the moment he was a little straightened for ready cash. Would the hirer of the animal accept a promissory note? “Certainly,” he said.

The lawyer further said that he must be allowed a long date. “You can fix your own time,” said the creditor. The wicked man then drew the note, making it payable at the Day of Judgment. Eventually, the creditor took the matter to court, and there, in defence, the lawyer asked the judge to look at the note. He did so, and then replied, “The promissory note is perfectly good sir and as this is day of judgment, I decree that you pay tomorrow.”

The inescapable day of final judgment for mankind is emphasised in the passage today. We are confronted with the reality that everyone that has ever lived on earth will that day come to stand before the judgment seat of God and would be judged based on the way they lived on earth. Only those whose names are in the book of life would be spared this judgment. There will be no room for any excuse or appeal against the judgment and no chance for reprieve. All your actions and secrets will be brought into light.

Note that the opinions of men or noise of false preachers cannot alter the unchangeable decree of heaven. The day of judgment will definitely come and only those who have accepted Jesus as Lord and Saviour here will escape the judgment.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
Salvation procures escape from the coming judgment.

TREM Devotional – The Head And The Body Cannot Be Separated

Bishop Mike Okonkwo

Wisdom For The Day Devotional 19 April 2024 By Bishop Mike Okonkwo – The Head And The Body Cannot Be Separated

TOPIC: The Head And The Body Cannot Be Separated (TREM Devotional 19 April 2024)

“And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.” Colossians 1:18 (KJV)

MESSAGE:

Sometimes, the things I am sharing appear like repetition, but there is power in repetition. I need you to come to terms with these truths so that you may live victoriously.

Jesus is the head of the body of Christ. The head and the body cannot be separated. Where He is, that is where you are. The Book of Colossians 2:6 says, “As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in Him.” (KJV). Put on a mentality that you are Him, not that you are like Him. You are Him because you can’t be separated.

Sometimes, the devil jumps on you and says that it is not you. If you are the one, how come this and that are happening to you? Beloved, it is not based on what is happening but on what He has done.

Everything He accomplished was for us. All we need to do is accept them. The Book of Romans 4:25 declares, “Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.” And the Book of Romans 5:1-2 says: “Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: by whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.” (KJV). God is no longer mad at any of us.

Child of God, accept your acceptance. You are one with Christ. You have been quickened. You have been raised. You have been made to sit together with Him in heavenly places. Christ has redeemed you from the curse of the law. You are not under the curse. The reason you think you are under the curse is ignorance. The curse has been removed. You are now in the place of the blessing.

Seeds Of Destiny Devotional – Flourishing In Famine

Seeds Of Destiny Devotional

Dunamis Seeds Of Destiny 19 April 2024 Devotional By Dr. Paul Enenche: Flourishing In Famine

TOPIC: Flourishing In Famine (Seeds Of Destiny 19 April 2024)

SCRIPTURE: And there was a famine in the land, beside the first famine that was in the days of Abraham…Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year an hundredfold: and the LORD blessed him. – Genesis 26:1, 12.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: In a world plagued with darkness and economic holocaust, you need a different mind-set to live a different life.

MESSAGE:

The Scripture reveals that in the land of Gerar where Isaac once dwelled, there was a great famine. But Isaac sowed in the midst of this famine.

Can you see Isaac’s mind-set?
Everyone in the land was plagued by the famine and were thinking and looking for what to eat, but Isaac was thinking and looking for what to sow.

Isaac flourished in the midst of famine because he had a different mind-set. Your mentality indeed determines your reality.

In a world plagued with darkness and economic holocaust, you need a different mind-set to live a different life. It does not matter the situation of the land, if your mind is different, your life will be different. When you have a different mind-set, people will see that difference in your life.

Sometime ago, in one of our mid-week services, while I was preaching, a young man sat in church and asked himself while listening to the message, “How do I move from the realm of millions in Naira to the realm of billions in Naira?”

While listening to the message, light flashed through his mind; he got an idea to decrease his expenses and increase his investment. Then, he gave himself three years and decided to spend only from his investment.

In a short while, he entered into the ten-figure range.
Beloved, you are not where you are because the devil is too powerful. If you come to your senses, you must come to your changes.

REMEMBER THIS: In a world plagued with darkness and economic holocaust, you need a different mind-set to live a different life.

ASSIGNMENTS:

  1. Make up your mind to flourish even in the midst of famine.
  2. Do not allow the situation of the world to determine your mind-set; let your mind-set change the situation of the world around your life.

PRAYER: Lord, I receive the grace to flourish despite the darkness in the world. Give me the right mentality that will positively shape the reality of life, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

DCLM Daily Manna – No Cross No Christianity

Pastor W. F. Kumuyi

DCLM Daily Manna 19 April 2024 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — No Cross, No Christianity

TOPIC: No Cross, No Christianity (DCLM Daily Manna 19 April 2024)

KEY VERSE: “And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple” (Luke 14:27).

TEXT: Luke 14:25-35 (KJV)

25 And there went great multitudes with him: and he turned, and said unto them,

26 If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.

27 And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.

28 For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it?

29 Lest haply, after he hath laid the foundation, and is not able to finish it, all that behold it begin to mock him,

30 Saying, This man began to build, and was not able to finish.

31 Or what king, going to make war against another king, sitteth not down first, and consulteth whether he be able with ten thousand to meet him that cometh against him with twenty thousand?

32 Or else, while the other is yet a great way off, he sendeth an ambassage, and desireth conditions of peace.

33 So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple.

34 Salt is good: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be seasoned?

35 It is neither fit for the land, nor yet for the dunghill; but men cast it out. He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.

MESSAGE:

On March 14, 1984, The Washington Post reported a war of crosses in Poland. The incident occurred before the collapse of communism. The government of Poland issued an order that all crucifixes be removed from classroom walls just as they had been banned in factories, hospitals and other public institutions. This precipitated a series of protests involving thousands of students who marched with crucifixes held high for Morning Prayer to support the protest. The priest who delivered the message to the weeping congregation that morning said, “There is no Poland without a cross.”

From the passage before us, Jesus told the multitudes of the importance of cross-bearing in Christianity. In a surprising sermon, He told the multitude that cross-bearing is required as part of the conditions for following Him. Required also is the need to ‘hate’ father, mother, wife, children and brethren and their lives before they can effectively follow Him. He told his audience to count the cost before signing up as His disciples. It was a very steep requirement.

Christ was not teaching filial irresponsibility or rebellion against parental authority here. The emphasis is to set Him ahead of everything while we take up the cross and follow Him. The Jews knew what the cross represented. It was the obnoxious means of capital punishment on condemned persons. They knew that bearing the cross meant death. And in the case of Christian disciples, dying to self and the world.

There is no Christianity without the cross. The cross represents sacrifice, pain, persecution, shame and death. Take up your cross daily and follow Him. This is the essence of true Christianity.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
The cross is not for decoration but a symbol of crucifixion.

Lyrics: We Love You Jesus (Remix) By Tomi Favored Ft. Yinka Okeleye

When we think of your love
The love you have shown to humankind
How you’ve given yourself up for us
You’ve opened the eyes of those once blind
It’s incredible
So incomparable
The grace you have shown
It seemed impossible
Almost unbelievable but you chose to go

Oh oh oh
Oh oh oh
We love you Jesus
We love you Lord
Oh oh oh
Oh oh oh
We love you Jesus
We love you Lord

All of heaven could never Imagine
The plan that you had to set us free
Even earth did not comprehend
What you came down to do
Everything you’d go through
It’s incredible
So incomparable
The grace you have shown
It seemed impossible
Almost unbelievable but you chose to go

Oh oh oh
Oh oh oh
We love you Jesus
We love you Lord

TREM Devotional – You Have A New Position In Christ

Bishop Mike Okonkwo

Wisdom For The Day Devotional 18 April 2024 By Bishop Mike Okonkwo – You Have A New Position In Christ

TOPIC: Don’t Fall For The Enemy’s Tricks (TREM Devotional 18 April 2024)

“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” – 2 Corinthians 5:17 (KJV)

MESSAGE:

Do you believe that now that you are in Christ, your position has changed? Today’s text says if any man be in Christ, He is a new creature, not refurbished. You are not a Jew, neither are you a gentile. You are a new creation. A new species of being that has never existed before. And God is dealing with you on a different platform. You are His son. The same acceptance to which He accepted Jesus is the same acceptance to which He accepted you.

The way Jesus is before God is the way you are before Him. No difference! That is what the new birth gave to us. “For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.” Romans 8:29-30 (KJV).

You are called to glory, not shame. The end of your life has already been determined. It is glorious and colourful. You will not end halfway in Jesus’ name.

Throughout the period of temptation, Jesus kept on saying, “It Is Written.” In other words, He knew what was written and accepted it. Have you accepted what is written concerning you? You are God’s ambassador. You are anointed by God to do the works of God. You are God’s powerhouse. You can never fail. You are a terror to the devil.

Yes, you are His beloved child. You carry his DNA. Where He is, that is where you are. You are born to succeed. You are born to achieve greatness. You can never lag. You are meant to stand on the global platform. You are meant for significance. You will make a formidable impact in your world. You can never take the last position because where He is, is where you are. The head and the body cannot be separated.

SCRIPTURE: And David spake to the men that stood by him, saying, What shall be done to the man that killeth this Philistine, and taketh away the reproach from Israel? for who is this uncircumcised Philistine, that he should defy the armies of the living God? 1 Samuel 17:26.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: When you win in your mind, you must surely win in life; but when you lose in your mind, you will surely lose in life.

MESSAGE:

It has been established that your mentality determines your reality.

When you win in your mind, you must surely win in life; but when you lose in your mind, you will surely lose in life. Battles are lost or won first in the mind.

The story of David demonstrates the importance of the mind in the battles of life. David was someone who won the battles of his life from his mind.

In 1 Samuel 17, there was a time the Israelites and the Philistines were gathered for a battle. King Saul was the leader of Israel while Goliath was the front man for the philistines. Goliath came out to confront the children of Israel. He boasted to the children of Israel for forty days to bring out a man who could fight him, but there was no one to fight him.

Whenever Goliath came up and threatened, all Israel became afraid and ran into their camp.

However, David was sent by his father, Jesse, to ask after the welfare of his elder brothers in the battle ground, and then he heard Goliath boasting and threatening Israel.

1 Samuel 17:26 says:
And David spake to the men that stood by him, saying, What shall be done to the man that killeth this Philistine, and taketh away the reproach from Israel? for who is this uncircumcised Philistine, that he should defy the armies of the living God?

You see, all the Israelites saw Goliath as too big to fight, but David saw him as too big to miss. They all saw Goliath as an adversary who was too big to confront, but David saw Goliath as an opportunity too big to miss. That was how David went after Goliath.

David said to Goliath, “Come to me, and I will take your head from you. By the time I finish with you, I will use your own knife to cut off your head.” Remember that he had no knife in his hand when he made this statement; he was eyeing Goliath’s knife.

Beloved, what you do not see coming will never come. If you want to seize it, you must see it. David saw the victory ahead of time. He saw victory in his mind and he got victory in real life.

REMEMBER THIS: When you win in your mind, you must surely win in life; but when you lose in your mind, you will surely lose in life.

ASSIGNMENTS:

  1. Ask God for a victory mind-set.
  2. Refuse to be intimidated by physical confrontations.

DCLM Daily Manna – Keep Trusting Him

DCLM Daily Manna 18 April 2024 Devotional By Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Keep Trusting Him

TOPIC: Keep Trusting Him (DCLM Daily Manna 18 April 2024)

KEY VERSE: “And when they came to Marah, they could not drink of the waters of Marah, for they were bitter: therefore the name of it was called Marah” (Exodus 15:23).

TEXT: Exodus 15:22-27 (KJV)

22 So Moses brought Israel from the Red sea, and they went out into the wilderness of Shur; and they went three days in the wilderness, and found no water.

23 And when they came to Marah, they could not drink of the waters of Marah, for they were bitter: therefore the name of it was called Marah.

24 And the people murmured against Moses, saying, What shall we drink?

25 And he cried unto the Lord; and the Lord shewed him a tree, which when he had cast into the waters, the waters were made sweet: there he made for them a statute and an ordinance, and there he proved them,

26 And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the Lord thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the Lord that healeth thee.

27 And they came to Elim, where were twelve wells of water, and threescore and ten palm trees: and they encamped there by the waters.

MESSAGE:

There’s a great story about Alexander Solzhenitsyn, the Russian writer who spent years in a cold Siberian prison during the USSR era. At one point, he had become entirely discouraged and decided to give up and die. He planned to stop working out in the field, lean on his shovel and wait for the guards to come and beat him to death. However, when he stopped, another prisoner reached over with his shovel and quickly drew a cross at his feet, then erased it before a guard could see it. Solzhenitsyn later said that his entire being was energised by that little reminder of our hope and courage in Christ.

In our text, the Israelites had just finished celebrating a great deliverance from Egyptian bondage and the unforgettable miracle of crossing the Red Sea. Then, another crisis occurred. They had no water to drink. When they finally found water at Marah, the waters were bitter. Amid the complaints, Moses prayed to God, who showed him a tree, which, after casting it into the waters, they were made sweet. In a swift change of fate, Israel came to Elim, where they had 12 wells of water and 70 palm trees.

Putting together the chain of events from when the Israelites left Egypt’s borders on their way to the Promised Land, we find a mixed experience. It was not a smooth ride at all. Sometimes, they encountered challenges, complained and murmured. Deliverance eventually came; then they sang and rejoiced. The wilderness was a great test of their faith and on many occasions, they failed that test.

Life is made up of opposites. When passing through those unalterable vicissitudes, we tend to find someone to blame for our calamities – our church leaders, family members and friends, the government or God. We often forget the one most important thing – prayers. Praying rests our weary hearts and restores our hope in God.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Stop complaining; look up and go forward.
