[Music + Lyrics] Found – Yemi Alafifuni

Found - Yemi Alafifuni
While life can be uncertain and the trend disturbing, it is comforting to know that God has a plan. What is lost can certainly be found by the grace of God’s love, and singer-songwriter Yemi Alafifuni is here to deliver this message. Grammy considered, and steadily growing within the Christian/Gospel scene, Yemi’s rich vocal tones and textures, along with his miraculous ability for writing lyrics, has released a new single, “Found” across all streaming platforms.

Found was written at two different times both demanding a response to a simple question; what are you looking for that God can’t fulfil?

The chorus of this song was written a few years ago as a response to self-gratification thoughts. Yemi survived extremely difficult situations growing up and wondered in awe how God brought him through. In my mind, I believe I have lived a good life becoming a Christian at a young age but it wasn’t that I could keep myself but God found me and kept me from all harm – both spiritually and physically.

What is so special about me, Yemi asked. The answers are summarised in the lyrics and the core is that God found me… Yemi explained. He came running for me, even when I didn’t deserve it.

The entire song describes different moments of Yemi’s experiences coined through the lenses of these two scriptures;

1 John 4:10; This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Jeremiah 29:13; You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.

Lyrics: Found By Yemi Alafifuni

I will not monetise you
I will not trade you for gold
I will not trivialise you
I know where the power is

You never fail, You mesmerise me
No stone will take my place
You don’t need to hypnotise me
I know what You’ve done for me

I found love when I found You
Found peace in the storm
Found hope when You found me
Found what I was looking for

Found goodness in You
Found grace no-one deserves
Found You when You found me
You found me, You found me

You came running for me
My Champion came for me
I cannot quantify You
But I found who You really are

Found love when I found You
Found peace in the storm
Found hope when You found me
Found what I was looking for

Found goodness in You
Found grace no-one deserves
Found You when You found me
You found me… You found me

From the liars and strange fires
You came running, You found me

Words like water to my soul now

I’m new! You found me

Broke the shackles of my shadows
You came running, You found me

Love like fire in my bones
I’m new! You found me

I need a tête-à-tête
See, my heart needs to beat
I will not double date You
You won’t break my heart

Found love when I found You
Found peace in the storm
Found hope when You found me
Found what I was looking for

Found goodness in You
Found grace no-one deserves
Found You when You found me

You found me
You found me

I am blessed and favored
As I deep my feet in oil
I possess territories
As I deep my feet in oil
I shall live and not Die
As I deep my feet in Oil
every Yoke is broken
As I deep my feet in oil

I take authority
From east to west
From north to south
As I deep my feet in oil
I walk by faith and not by sight

Lyrics: Paul & Silas (At Midnight) – Naomi Raine Ft. Chandler Moore

[Verse 1: Chandler Moore]
And at midnight
Paul and Silas prayed inside that prison
Singing hymns to God, the prisoners listened
Little did they know what would come next, oh
All of a sudden
The earth began to quake, and the foundation
Of that jail began to shake
The door flung open
The chains of all the prisoners came loose

[Pre-Chorus: Chandler Moore]
So don’t tell me what praise cannot do
The sound of our faith makes the mountains move

[Chorus: Chandler Moore]
And I’m not waiting ’til the morning
I will worship You right now
No, I’m not waiting ’til the morning
Oh, I will worship

[Verse 2: Naomi Raine]
In your midnight
When the thoughts are building up just like a prison
Don’t forget your song, the Father’s listening
To еvery melody and evеry word
This is the breakthrough
What if God is doing something brand new
There are other people coming with you
And freedom is the door we’re walking through
Oh-oh

[Pre-Chorus: Naomi Raine & Chandler Moore, Naomi Raine]
So don’t tell me what praise cannot do
The sound of our faith makes the mountains move
Let’s build Him a home with our praise
For nothing can hold back the Father’s grace
Oh-oh-oh-oh

[Chorus: Chandler Moore]
Say (I’m not waiting ’til the morning)
I will, I will (I will worship You right now)
I’m not gonna wait ’til the morning
(I’m not waiting ’til the morning)
I will worship You right now, hey
(I will worship You right now)
I’m not gonna wait ’til the morning
(I’m not waiting ’til the morning)
I will, I will, I will (I will worship You right now)
I’m not waiting (I’m not waiting ’til the morning)
‘Cause I will worship You right now (I will worship)

[Interlude: Chandler Moore]
Yeah yeah, yeah yeah, yeah yeah
I’m not gonna wait another minute (No no, no no no)
‘Cause You’re worthy right now

[Spontaneous: Chandler Moore]
So why wait
When the praise is happening now? I won’t wait
I won’t let a rock cry out in my place
You’ve been too good to wait
He’s been too good to hold my praise
So why wait (Why wait)
When the praise is happening now? (When the praise is happening now)
Say, I won’t wait
I won’t let a rock cry out, say (I won’t let a rock cry out)
In my place
He’s been too good to wait (He’s been too good to wait)
He’s been too good to hold (He’s been too good to hold my praise)
Why wait (Why wait)
When praise is happening now? (When the praise is happening now?)
Hold up (Won’t wait)
Won’t let a rock cry out (Won’t let a rock cry out)
