How To Work Out Your Salvation ~ Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor

Topic: How To Work Out Your Salvation [Monday 22, May 2017]

“…Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.” (Phil 2:12)

It is easier to become a Christian than to remain a true Christian. All you have to do to become a Christian is to confess and repent of your sins, and accept the redemptive work of Christ. For you to remain a faithful Christian, however, you will pay a price. The truth is that the Kingdom of God is not butter and bread.

The Bible instructs that you work out your salvation with fear and trembling. However, working out your salvation is not as easy as it sounds. As long as you are a human being, you will always battle with the flesh. “How can I work out my salvation when I must battle with the flesh?” you may ask.

God in His omniscient nature answered the question before you ever realized the need to ask it. He said, “…Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit” (Zech. 4:6).

In other words, He has inserted a divine pipe into your spirit from which you can suck the strength from heaven to work out your salvation. With His spirit, you are equipped to resist the flesh and walk in His divine nature. That’s why Gal. 5:16-17 says,

“Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusted against the Spirit and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.”

You may have many good things in your mind to do, but at the end of the day, you may find that you could not do them. May God put the spirit of enablement in you, in Jesus’ name.

Word of Wisdom: The truth is that the Kingdom of God is not butter and bread.

Prayer/Confession: Father, equip me with your spirit to walk in your divine nature and to do all the good things you have put in my heart to do, in Jesus’ name.
