Peace ~ Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor

Topic: Peace [Tuesday March 28, 2017]

“Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.” (Phil. 4:6)

What the above scripture means is that you should not be anxious about anything. It means you should not allow anything to bother your mind, make you worried, take your sleep away. It means you should not let anything make you sad, make you panic, or stop you from eating as you would normally. It means you should not allow anything to make you fear or shake you.

When you get to that point where events happening around you don’t trouble you, you have attained a level of deep spiritual knowledge. You have come to know that prevailing circumstances do not define God. Peace is a spice you must put on your sacrifice. The opposite of peace is anxiety, worry, or fear. A person who does not have peace is always anxious. Why is it that God does not want the taste of your sacrifice to be tainted with anxiety? It is because when you are anxious, the quality of your work diminishes and your productivity level drops. Anxious people cannot think straight. They cannot see Jesus in the middle of the storm. Even when they see Him, they call Him a ghost. In essence, anxiety reduces the quality of your sacrifice.

There has never been a person for whom worry changed a thing. Once upon a time, Jesus and His disciples found themselves in a life-threatening situation. His disciples became completely anxious for their lives but Jesus went to sleep. That is how God wants you to react in the face of anxiety. He wants you to leave the situation to Him. He knows how to rebuke great storms of wind.

WORD OF WISDOM: Prevailing circumstances do not define God. Anxiety reduces the quality of your service. There has never been a person for whom worry changed a thing.

PRAYER/CONFESSION: In the name of Jesus, Father, take my anxiety away. I leave everything to you now. I am going to sleep. When I wake up, let me find that you have taken care of everything.
