“Therefore God give thee of the dew of heaven, and the fatness of the earth, and plenty of corn and wine.” (Gen 27:28)

The above scripture refers to the blessing that Isaac placed on his son Jacob. Jacob the blessed man, having the dew of heaven and the fatness of the earth, went to his uncle Laban saw a woman that he loved, asked what the dowry was, and was told, ‘nothing’. However, Laban told him he would have to work for seven years to earn her. At the end of the agreed period, Jacob went to Laban to demand for the wife that he had spent seven long years working for. Laban told him there was no problem. He gave him a wife but when morning came, Jacob discovered Laban had brought him the wrong person. That’s a typical example of profitless hard labour!

Many people have dreams in which they see themselves doing well. For example, some see themselves getting married, having children, being promoted, or living in their own house and driving their own car. But when they wake up, sadly, they are nowhere near their dreams. They have such dreams because in God’s blueprint for them, at that stage, they should have those things in the physical. Many people work harder than those that are making it.

Hard work is very good but it’s not all there is to succeeding. God has to breathe favor on your labour for it to produce the results you need. With favor on your labour, a new factor comes into the equation and your struggle takes a totally different turn.

I call God’s favor upon your labour today. Whatever you put your hand to do will prosper.

WORDS OF WISDOM: The dew of heaven makes your seed germinate and bear fruit for you.

PRAYER/CONFESSION: Father, in the name of Jesus, roll away every shame of profitless hard labour, breathe favor into my labour, and let me enjoy the fruit of my labour, in Jesus’ name.
