Topic: Amazing Grace [December 6, 2016]
“Now, there is at Jerusalem by the sheep market a pool, which is called in Hebrew tongue Bethsaida, having five porches.” (John 5:2)
The name “Bethsaida” means the house of mercy.
Mercy is what prevents you from getting what you deserve. Grace, on the other hand, is God’s ability to give you privileges you do not deserve. For instance, if you deserve to die because of a wrong done, “Mercy” is what turns it around to give life to you. Simply put, “Mercy” prevents you from getting the punishment you deserve for a wrong doing while “Grace” gives you what you do not deserve. When this mercy combines with grace, it produces “Amazing Grace”. Amazing means “full of wonder”.
In the pool of Bethsaida (House of Prayer), there were five porches. The number five represents Grace. In the same pool, whosoever entered the water first in the season got healed of all diseases.
This year 2016, God’s double grace shall be amazing in your life.
