Topic: One More Launch
Read: Luke 5:1-7
Luke 5:1-7 And it came to pass, that, as the people pressed upon him to hear the word of God, he stood by the lake of Gennesaret,
And saw two ships standing by the lake: but the fishermen were gone out of them, and were washing their nets.
And he entered into one of the ships, which was Simon’s, and prayed him that he would thrust out a little from the land. And he sat down, and taught the people out of the ship.
Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught.
And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net.
And when they had this done, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake.
And they beckoned unto their partners, which were in the other ship, that they should come and help them. And they came, and filled both the ships, so that they began to sink.

EXPOSITION
From today’s text, it was gathered that Christ ordered Peter and his ship’s crew to cast their nets into the sea which they did in obedience to Him, though they had been there at all night and had caught nothing. Their business has suffered setback. And all hope is lost on catching any fish, because it was already morning. They were diligent in their business, yet they met with disappointments. They harkened to Jesus’ voice in obedience and they launched, the rest was a testimony.
Dear devout, what is that you have tried severally but not making a head way? Christ is beckoning unto you to come, launch out one more time. Is it a particular prayer point that you are thinking of giving up on? You need to ask one more time John 16:24. Are you a graduate, seeking for employment, gone around tirelessly, exhaust all your strength in search of a job, all to no avail, then you are discouraged, the message of Christ to you today is try one more time.
Are you seeking for admission? You have written a lot of examinations, yet no admission, do not relent, try one more time. Are you tirelessly working hard, trying to find ways to get through the trials of life like the fishermen, Jesus is saying to you, launch one more time.
Have you worked tirelessly without solution, brethren, don’t be discouraged, Jesus is still the same, He wants you to try one more time. Whatever it is that you are thinking of giving up on, hear what Christ is saying today, receive strength, courage and boldness and launch out one more time.
As you are ready to try this time around, do not lean on your wisdom or head knowledge, lean on God’s words, ask Him for wisdom to do it successfully now. Seek His promises through His Word and apply it to that situation and you will be surprised at your catch. Launch out once more.
PRAYER POINT
1. Father, encourage me to go extra mile to do all I have to do in order to fulfil my purpose in life.
2. I receive supernatural wisdom to excel in all of my life endeavours in Jesus’ name.
3. Pray that God will encourage the missionaries in their various fields never to give up in their God-given assignments.
