DCLM Daily Manna 7 November 2025 Devotional By Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Inescapable Punishment For Recalcitrance

TOPIC: Inescapable Punishment For Recalcitrance (DCLM Daily Manna 7 November 2025)

KEY VERSE: “And men were scorched with great heat, and blasphemed the name of God, which hath power over these plagues: and they repented not to give him glory” (Revelation 16:9)

TEXT: Revelation 16:1-12 (KJV)

1 And I heard a great voice out of the temple saying to the seven angels, Go your ways, and pour out the vials of the wrath of God upon the earth.

2 And the first went, and poured out his vial upon the earth; and there fell a noisome and grievous sore upon the men which had the mark of the beast, and upon them which worshipped his image.

3 And the second angel poured out his vial upon the sea; and it became as the blood of a dead man: and every living soul died in the sea.

4 And the third angel poured out his vial upon the rivers and fountains of waters; and they became blood.

5 And I heard the angel of the waters say, Thou art righteous, O Lord, which art, and wast, and shalt be, because thou hast judged thus.

6 For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets, and thou hast given them blood to drink; for they are worthy.

7 And I heard another out of the altar say, Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are thy judgments.

8 And the fourth angel poured out his vial upon the sun; and power was given unto him to scorch men with fire.

9 And men were scorched with great heat, and blasphemed the name of God, which hath power over these plagues: and they repented not to give him glory.

10 And the fifth angel poured out his vial upon the seat of the beast; and his kingdom was full of darkness; and they gnawed their tongues for pain,

11 And blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, and repented not of their deeds.

12 And the sixth angel poured out his vial upon the great river Euphrates; and the water thereof was dried up, that the way of the kings of the east might be prepared.

MESSAGE:

Often, people need help to have a balanced understanding of the Book of Revelation. However, theologians generally agree that the book provides a fearful record of the impending judgment coming upon the world. Regardless of the debates on the correct interpretation of the passage, one thing stands out: sin and rebellion will soon run their entire course. Having given man ample opportunity to repent and turn away from their sinful conduct, God has set aside a day of reckoning for all those who live as outlaws, contrary to His holy standard.

Apostle John had the rare privilege of conveying this warning to people in all generations, painting a fearful picture of the horrific and unbearable suffering that will descend on the inhabitants of the earth after believers have been raptured and the great tribulation enters its critical moments. It will be a time of terrible famine, suffering, devastation, death, and destruction that will be unleashed on unrepentant sinners and backsliders who rejected the message of redemption.

This passage depicts a series of catastrophic events symbolising divine judgment upon those who receive the mark of the Antichrist and worship his image. While the rebellious suffer these calamities, there is an angelic affirmation of our Lord’s ultimate triumph and the justification of God’s judgment upon the earth. Human beings tend to persist in sin and rebellion despite the obvious consequences of sin and a careless lifestyle. Refusal to repent and turn to God only brings more divine wrath on the rebellious.

Has God been warning you about some unscriptural and ungodly behaviour or actions lately? Have you consistently rejected the gospel message, thinking that divine judgment is not real or is so remote? Remember, there’s a great day coming when it will be too late to repent. Now is the time to escape the impending judgment coming upon all rebellious people. Repent today, delay no more, and receive Jesus as your Lord and Saviour.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Excuse-making does not avert divine punishment.
