TOPIC — Jesus: God’s Model For Man (DCLM Daily Manna 1 December 2024)
KEY VERSE: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth” (John 1:1,14).
TEXT: John 1:1-14 (KJV)
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 The same was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.
7 The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.
8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.
9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.
10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.
11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not.
12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

MESSAGE:
In modern learning, modelling, simulations and visual presentations help bring concepts, ideas and objects near and make them real to the learners. Its primary purpose is to help learners have a near tangible grasp and understanding of the subject matter. 3D models mainly portray real-world and conceptual visuals for arts, entertainment, simulation and drafting. Their use is not limited to the classrooms as they are employed in many industries to make concepts tangible and understandable.
But the Gospel of Saint John does not need 3D technology to reveal the identity of Jesus. It presents Him as the perfect model and image of God. He is the Word -God’s Full Expression to man. The gospel reveals and demonstrates all that man needs to know about God. He is God’s message, illustrated and shown to man.
Jesus sums up all the Old Testament’s illustrations and demonstrations of God. He is the end of the search for God. All who wish to know God, understand His message and demands for man, have their quests satisfied in Christ. He gives man the power to live the way God wants. Everyone who receives Jesus gets the power that transforms into a child of God and receives the grace to live righteously and be prepared for heaven.
Mere religious practices and observances cannot help anyone find God. Jesus is the only way to God. Except you believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, you will be struggling with religion that does not save and you cannot find satisfaction for your soul. But you can seize the opportunity presented today to repent, turn to Jesus by faith and begin the beautiful journey of knowing and walking with God.
