DCLM Daily Manna 27 September 2022 Devotional By Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — The All In All
TOPIC: The All In All (DCLM Daily Manna 27 September 2022)
TEXT: Colossians 1:10-19 (KJV)
10 That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;
11 Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness;
12 Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:
13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:
14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:
15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:
16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:
17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.
18 And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.
19 For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell;
KEY VERSE: “For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him” (Colossians 1:16).
MESSAGE:
In the world today, some rulers are described as despots, imperial majesties, royal highnesses, paramount rulers, field marshal or grand commanders. We have acclaimed world powers with veto powers and authority, and eminent personalities distinguished with highest order, yet they cannot be classified as “The All in All”. They are all subject to laws of nature and limitations in different spheres of life. The likes of Pharaoh, Sennacherib, Nebuchadnezzar and Herod with acclaimed absolute powers and prowess were humiliated by God.
In Christ Jesus, we find the One who is the All in All. “In whom we have redemption through his blood”; “by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by Him, and for Him”. Truly, He is the All in All. He “is before all things, and by Him all things consist… and in him should all fulness dwell”.
The understanding of these facts in our passage made Apostle Paul, among other things, to passionately pray for the believers in Colosse, that they might walk worthy of the Lord and be fruitful in every good work while they increase in the knowledge of God.
Anyone who is saved by Christ cannot continue in his sinful ways. Rather, once he understands the ultimate sacrifice God made for him, he should respond with a grateful desire to please Him in all things.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
Christ’s preeminence demands eminent lifestyle.
