Topic: You Are Deeply Loved [Wednesday September 6, 2017]
“Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not because it knew him not.” (1 John 3:1 KJV)
I am excited to bring the word to you today on a truth that I believe every believer should fully understand and accept. It is your belief, your understanding and your total acceptance of this truth that will launch you into a greater dimension of the manifestation of God’s promises over your life, especially in these last days. What am I talking about? The reality of God’s love for you. You are deeply loved!
The writer, John, is literally astonished at the manner of love that God has bestowed upon us as believers. He cannot understand why God would so lavishly and stupendously expend his love on you, a mortal man, to the extent that he, the Holy God would call you his child. Did you do anything to earn, deserve or warrant God’s love? The answer is no! It was entirely God’s idea and decision to love you, even when you were unlovable.
The book of John 3:16 (KJV) declares: “For God SO loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son,…” The word ‘so’ was used to describe the great and tremendous extent to which God loves you. No English language could describe the measure of love. That is why John put it as ‘so loved’. Jesus is the greatest expression of God’s love for mankind. And what if God’s salvation agenda and package for mankind were limited to only getting saved from eternal destruction, without any other benefits attached, would it not be enough, considering the enormity of man’s sin and rebellion against God? Yet, because of his great, immeasurable and unconditional love for you, his salvation package also includes a permanent change of status; from servant hood to son-ship and with all the entitlements to go with it.
