TOPIC: Keep The Fire Burning (TREM Devotional 29 April 2024)

“The fire shall ever be burning upon the altar; it shall never go out.” Leviticus 6:13 (KJV)

MESSAGE:

According to the scriptures, the fire upon the altar shall not be put out. It shall ever be burning upon the altar. The Word of God is telling you that your fire ought not to go out. The fire should be burning. In other words, the fervency, the zeal, and the passion must continue. It must not stop. Your fire must ever be burning!

It was written concerning Christ in the scriptures: “For the zeal of thine house hath eaten me up; And the reproaches of them that reproached thee are fallen upon me.” Psalm 69:9 (KJV). When His disciples saw Him go into the Temple to drive out those who were merchandising in the temple, they remembered what was written prophetically concerning Him. John 1:17 (KJV).

Are you still eaten up by the zeal for the things of God? Is the zeal still there? Keeping the fire burning requires that we continue steadfastly in what we have been taught. It requires that we constantly participate in fellowship with fellow believers. “Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls. And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.” Acts 2:41-42 (KJV).

It is time to let the fire return. You are a part of God’s global agenda. You cannot afford to be docile and lukewarm. I declare that you will take your place. You will recover all!

SCRIPTURE: He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. – 1 John 4:8.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: You cannot dwell in God’s Presence and not be overwhelmed by love.

MESSAGE:

It has been established that nearness to God equals fullness of love. You cannot dwell in God’s Presence and not be overwhelmed by love.

One way to remain in love and radiate love is to dwell in God’s Presence. This is because God is love. When you dwell with God in prayer and in the Word, His love nature gets practically and literally transmitted to you.

In my own life, many times, after prayers, I come out from the Presence of the Lord smiling with my arms wide open. I open my arms to my wife and children for embrace.

And my wife would always tell me, “Go back there! Go back to where you are coming from. Go and remain there”.

The truth is, it is a lie when you say you know God and you do not have love. It is a lie!
I do not care what your title is. You may be a pastor, deacon, bishop or head of a department; if you do not know love, you do not know God.

Many times, I cannot understand how a man would lift his hand to slap his wife. It is a proof of lack of love. And if you want to fight, it is better to go to the motor park because there are many people there looking for a fight.

Some men even shout and scream at their wives to the point that their wives begin to vibrate. If God should scream at you like that, will you survive it? The character of hate and anger that many people display is proof that they are far from God. Even if you have anger challenges and you decide to go close to God, the Presence of God would take that anger away.

There was a time the man of God, Smith Wigglesworth of Blessed Memory, would always boil with rage, when he hadn’t known God, especially against his wife. But came to the knowledge of God, God took that anger away and replaced it with a tender and loving heart.

Beloved, always remember that nearness to God equals fullness of love. To contact the Love of God, you will need to find your way to the Presence of God, which is the Presence of Love.

REMEMBER THIS: You cannot dwell in God’s Presence and not be overwhelmed with love.

ASSIGNMENTS:

  1. Make up your mind to spend time with God. Always give yourself to heartfelt worship.
  2. Let the Word of God dwell richly in you.

MESSAGE:

A religious sceptic once asked the German reformer, Martin Luther, why God created man when He knew he would sin. Luther, the seminal figure of the Protestant Reformation, replied, “Let us keep clear of these abstract questions and consider the will of God such as it has been revealed to us.” As a learned priest, Luther knew that God was not willing that any should perish (2 Peter 3:9). He also understood God’s desire that man should choose what is right over that which is evil.

God’s proposition, from the creation of the earth, showed that He wants man to obey Him freely, without force. He rewards such free will obedience, punishing disobedience as seen in the Garden of Eden (Genesis 3).

Our text chronicles God’s expectations and the abysmal failure of man over the years. As it was in the days of Isaiah, so it is today. Men are still chasing the vanities of life while their lives are fleeting. God cannot be mocked. He diligently rewards the obedient with blessings and those gone astray with just compensation for their sins.

God is always fair to all. If you do what is right, it shall be well with you. For those whose choice is wrongdoing, God will never permit the unrighteous to go free. The only way out is to repent of all sins, forsake all evil ways and make Jesus your Lord and Saviour. Again, the choice is yours:

“I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live” (Deuteronomy 30:19).

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
God is always fair to all. He rewards what is right and punishes what is wrong.

SCRIPTURE: He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. – 1 John 4:8.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Where love ends, there hate starts; where love ends, there wickedness begins.

MESSAGE:

It has been established that one of the causes of lovelessness is godlessness. Godlessness is the origin of lovelessness. When people are godless, they are loveless.

1 John 4:8 says:
He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.

You cannot truly possess God and not possess love.
You know, as long as Adam and Eve were in the Presence of God in the garden, there was no calamity. The first calamity that happened at creation was after God drove man from His Presence in the garden.

Genesis 3:23-24 says:
Therefore the LORD God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken. So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.

Man left the Presence of God. Man left the Presence of Love. Man was pushed out from the presence of love.
Consequently, Adam gave birth to children outside the Presence of Love. No wonder his first born, Cain, became a killer; he killed his brother, Abel.

Genesis 4:8 says:
And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him.

This was the first case of murder in the Bible. It happened in Genesis after man was driven out of the Presence of Love.

The lesson here is, where love ends, there hate starts. Where love ends, there wickedness begins. Do not let anyone deceive you; you measure your godliness by your lovingness. To be godly is to be loving. Nothing can convince God or the devil that you are godly except that you are loving.

REMEMBER THIS: Where love ends, there hate starts; where love ends, there wickedness begins.

ASSIGNMENTS:

  1. Make up your mind never to be godless or wicked.
  2. Embrace the virtue of godliness so you can release love and kindness.

PRAYER: Lord, I ask that You deliver me from the spirit of godlessness and wickedness. Fill my heart, Lord, with the love of Christ by the agency of Your Spirit, the Spirit of love, in Jesus’ Name.

MESSAGE:

In a sermon, Mark Roper’s story of Submarine-Style Peace illustrates the psalmist’s central message in this passage. “Several years ago, a submarine was being tested and had to remain submerged for many hours. When it returned to the harbor, the captain was asked, “How did the terrible storm last night affect you?” The officer looked at him in surprise and exclaimed, “Storm? We didn’t even know there was one!” The sub had been so far beneath the surface that it had reached the area known to sailors as “the cushion of the sea.” Although the ocean may be whipped into huge waves by high winds, the waters below are never stirred.”

In our text, David had many concerns. He was bothered by the naysayers’ conclusion that God had abandoned him. More distressing to him was that people were turning God’s glory into shame, loving vanity, and seeking after leasing (lies, falsehood and deceptive things). While the absolute truth of God’s will, way, and word were rejected, men were celebrating life’s vanities. These and many more unsettling issues of life flooded David’s heart.

However, this anointed king of Israel encouraged himself in the Lord rather than allow these human follies to unsettle him. Instead of meditating on problems, he was determined to praise God for His goodness towards him as an individual, rejoicing that God would hear him whenever he called. This is how to have peace in this distressing world.

Life’s troubles are weights God does not expect us to carry on our shoulders. To wade through the flood of life troubles, we must look away from the world and its troubles, pray to God and trust Him implicitly.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Look unto Jesus, the Spring of man’s joy, and be at peace with God.

Making her entry into the music industry, Christian music artist, singer, and songwriter Mary Ochanya Adole who’s to be known by the performing name Mairos is out with her debut single titled Hallelujah.

The debut entry of Mairos ‘Hallelujah’ is a song of thanksgiving, praise, and appreciation to God for His person and for His love towards us as His children. Not just any kind of thanksgiving but timely thanksgiving as we see His handiwork in our lives.

TOPIC: Turn Away From Evil Men (TREM Devotional 26 April 2024)

“Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.” 2 Timothy 3:5 (KJV)

MESSAGE:

One of the signs of the end time is that people will act religiously but reject the power that could make them godly. Apostle Paul says we should stay away from people like that. Presently, our society is filled with deceivers. But I am glad that the Bible already says that there is a limit to which they can continue with their mess. They will not get away with this for long. Someday, everyone will recognize the deceivers that they are.

Like it or not, in the name of Jesus, every knee will bow. One way or the other! It is either you bow your knee now and acknowledge Jesus as Lord, or I can assure you that someday you will have to bow that knee because He alone has a name that is above every name.

These are dangerous days. So it is important that as children of God, we deploy the full armour and arsenals God gave us. We must deploy everything. We must be brutal in the deployment of what God has given us so that we can navigate our ways. I am trying to get you to see that this world is filled with wickedness.

1 John 5:19 says that “…the whole world lieth in wickedness.” (KJV). So, what are we to do in the midst of this hopelessness? To put the devil where he belongs, you must accept who you have been made in Christ Jesus.

Continue your journey of faith by appropriating all He has done for you. That is what it means to walk in Christ. “As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: Rooted and built up in him, and establish in the faith as ye have been taught, abounding therein, with thanksgiving. Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.” Colossians 2:6-8 (KJV). So, guard your heart. Stay filled with the Word, and do not company with evil men.

TOPIC: Positioning The Mind For Triumphs (Seeds Of Destiny 26 April 2024)

SCRIPTURE: I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. – Romans 12:1-2.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Renew your mind continually with the Word of God because it is what you hear that feeds your faith.

MESSAGE:

We have seen the power of the mind and how it affects life and destiny.
Now, what do you do to maximize the full potentials of your mind? What do you do with your mind to triumph in hard times?

  1. Avoid sin.
    Iniquity corrupts mentality. Iniquity destroys destiny. We are called to glory and virtue. Sin makes us fall short of glory.
    Romans 6:23 says:
    For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
    So, avoid sin.
  2. Avoid both wrong associations and wrong communications.
    Proverbs 13:20 says:
    He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.
    Both the wrong association and the wrong communication affect the mind and consequently, they affect life. For example, ten spies destroyed the destiny of millions of Israelites on their way to the Promised Land, by what they said (Numbers 13:31-33).
    If anyone is not talking your talk, give them space. If anyone is not talking revelation, give them space. If anyone around you is not talking faith, give them space.
    Are they your friends? No!
    Are they your enemies? No!
    Who are they? You know them.
  3. Renew your mind continually with the Word.
    Romans 12:1-2 says:
    I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Renew your mind continually with the Word of God because it is what you hear that feeds your faith. Remember, faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God (Romans 10:17).

Beloved, what you hear also affects what you fear (Deuteronomy 13:11). So, instead of hearing things that make you afraid, hear the Word of God that makes you have faith.

REMEMBER THIS: Renew your mind continually with the Word of God because it is what you hear that feeds your faith.

ASSIGNMENTS:

  1. Avoid sin and the wrong association and communication.
  2. Maintain a daily, consistent and unbroken schedule with the Word of God.

PRAYER: Lord, I receive the grace to live above sin. Help me to avoid every wrong association and communication. I receive divine empowerment to maintain a positive mind-set for a successful and triumphant life, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
