Topic: He Paid The Price [March 28, 2018]
“But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.” Isaiah 53:5
One thing you must settle in your heart once and for all is that Jesus paid the full price for everything that concerns you. The devil will always want you to think that you need to earn God’s blessings; so, he throws you into the work mode where you struggle to live holy, you struggle to deserve His blessings, you struggle for everything Jesus paid for. But beloved, that is not true; in fact, it is a lie from the pit of hell.
Look at our scripture for today. The price Jesus paid was for your transgressions, iniquities, peace and health altogether. When He died once, He died for all, not because you need to impress Him, but because He loves you. Your part is to accept His love and walk in His love.
Jesus paid the complete price, so the next time you catch yourself in the “work” mode, stop and remind yourself that the price has been fully paid. Rather than get into the “work” mode, get into the “love mode”. As I write, this song comes to mind “Just because He loves me so, I’ll do my very best for Him. He is worthy of my praise, so I’ll praise His holy name…”.
When you understand what Jesus did for you, you will lovingly serve Him. Service will no longer be an act of compulsion or an attempt to win His love but a gesture to reciprocate the immense love He has for you, that He demonstrated by willingly paying the full price. You will serve joyfully and passionately knowing that the price He paid, no one else can. Thank God Jesus paid the full price for your redemption.
