Gospel music ministers, Mercy Chinwo-Blessed and Peterson Okopi have emerged as the winners at the 2022 CLIMA Africa Awards.
The ‘Excess Love’ crooner shared photos of the award plaque online. She wrote: “To God be the Glory, Great things He has Done”.
In the same fashion, the ‘Osuba’ crooner expressed gratitude, says there is more to come. “As I journey along with Christ and man. I find a balance… and I’m grateful that it pleases the Father to put me in this space to function for Him. I’m dying daily, staying awakened in prayers whilst my hands get to work the works he has called me to do”, Peterson wrote.
“Award is not the reward. It just says (There’s more) and that is golden , Your reward is in Christ. Stick with Jesus the Reward while you appreciate the award “, he added.
Mercy Chinwo won the Africa Gospel Artist of the Year category, while Peterson Okopi secured the Africa indigenous song of the year award.
Gospel singers who were also nominees in the same category include Sinach, Nosa, Nathaniel Bassey, Chioma Jesus, Dunsin Oyekan, Ada Ehi, and Hope Davies to mention a few.
CLIMA Africa Awards, one of Africa’s foremost gospel and leadership impact awards, officially known as “The Christian Leadership and Impact Makers Awards in Africa took place on October 9, 2022, at Shell Hall, MUSON Centre, Lagos.
