Dunamis Seeds Of Destiny 24 December 2025 Devotional By Dr. Paul Enenche: Avoid The Wrong Company
TOPIC: Avoid The Wrong Company (Seeds Of Destiny 24 December 2025)
SCRIPTURE: He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed. Proverbs 13:20.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The wrong company can destroy destiny.
MESSAGE
In life, company is a major factor that is critical to destiny fulfilment. A person’s company affects the direction and outcome of their life.
Psalms 1:1 tells us that, Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. On the contrary, if a person walks in the counsel of the ungodly, stands in the way of sinners, and sits in the seat of the scornful, he will not experience the blessing of God.
To keep company with the wrong people is to be exposed to failure and disaster. Many people have died other people’s deaths because they associated with the wrong people. They died in the place of others. What about Jonah in the ship? Everyone in that ship almost sank because of Jonah until they threw him out of the ship (Jonah 1:11-15).
Many have died in road traffic accidents, disco parties, or strange places, all because they went where they were not supposed to go.
One of the most striking examples of this was what happened between King Jehoshaphat of Judah and King Ahab of Israel (2 Chronicles 18:29–32). In summary, Ahab disguised himself and told Jehoshaphat to wear his own royal robes into battle so that the enemy would mistake Jehoshaphat for the king of Israel. The battle was not even Jehoshaphat’s, but Ahab’s, yet Jehoshaphat foolishly agreed. Jehoshaphat was one of Judah’s best kings, but he befriended Ahab, one of the worst kings of Israel. If not for God’s mercy, Jehoshaphat would have died another Ahab’s death.
The devil has victimized many people this way. That is something like, “I’m not looking for you, but what are you doing here?”
Beloved, must you attend that funeral? Must you go to that event? Where is it written that you must be everywhere?
Remember the young prophet in 1Kings 13:1–32. God sent him to prophesy against the altar at Bethel, warning him not to eat or return the same way. After great exploits, an old prophet deceived him by claiming that an angel said he should come back. The young prophet obeyed man instead of God and was killed by a lion.
The old prophet lied but still prophesied the death of the young prophet accurately afterward. This shows that one can miss God and still be “spiritual.”
Beloved, do not respect or love anyone enough to disobey divine instruction. Do not follow human opinion at the expense of Divine instruction. The wrong company can destroy destiny.
To avoid the wrong company means:
- To avoid associating with anyone whose way of life you are not sure of.
- If you are unsure of someone’s character, limit your interaction with them.
- Be cautious with anyone whose principles contradict yours.
- To avoid anyone who always brings you into danger through their words or actions.
Beloved, the wrong company can lead to the destruction of life and destiny; avoid the wrong company.
Remember This: The wrong company can destroy destiny.
ASSIGNMENT:
- Evaluate your current associations — do they bring you closer to God or lead you away?
- Disconnect from any relationship that endangers your spiritual, emotional, or physical wellbeing.
- Ask God daily for discernment to recognize and avoid wrong associations.
PRAYER: Lord, deliver me from wrong associations. Surround me with wise, Godly, and destiny-building people. Help me to always obey Your Voice above the voice of men or self, Lord in Jesus’ Name.
