TOPIC: Consequences Of Unforgiveness (Seeds Of Destiny 11 November 2025)
SCRIPTURE: And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. Mark 11:25
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Whatever makes you hold the sins of people against them, makes God hold your sins against you.
MESSAGE
The scripture makes it clear that offences must come as long as we are in this world (Matthew 18:7). The only person who is not offended is the person in the mortuary or in the grave. That is why it has been said that to err is human. So, human beings must permanently err and offend.
Now, the devil uses offence to cause destruction and damnation. Offences is a satanic trap for destruction and damnation.
In today’s study, I want to show you a few nagative consequences of offence. When you are offended and you are unable to forgive, what can it do to your life?
- Your iniquity remains unforgiven where there is unforgiveness (Mark 11:25). The meaning of that is, until you have forgiven people who offended you, you have not been forgiven by God. Whatever makes you hold the sins of people against them makes God hold your sins against you. Even the sins you committed many years ago are still speaking against you if you refuse to forgive.
- Access to grace is hindered by unforgiveness (Hebrews 12:15). When you live in unforgiveness, your access to grace is hindered, and where there is no grace, all you will have is disgrace. Grace is the reason for ease. The grace of God is the grease of life; where grace is removed, struggle is established. The bankruptcy of grace is the reason people struggle and suffer in life. The absence of grace is the abundance of sin (Titus 2:11,12).
- Bitterness or unforgiveness is a poison that troubles the system of the bitter and unforgiving person. Hebrews 12:15 says, … lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled. So, apart from inviting tormentors, bitterness or unforgiveness on it’s own troubles the system. Even if the devil was not invited, unforgiveness or bitterness troubles the system by it self. There are hormonal changes that take place in a person when the person is aggravated, agitated, irritated or frustrated. Those hormonal changes cause sickness and disease in the body.
- Unforgiveness an bitterness bring damnation in eternity (Revelations 21:27). No one enters heaven with any form of defilement, including the defilement of bitterness. 1 John 3:14-15 says, … Whatsoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.
Beloved, decide to let go offences and move on; don’t hold onto bitterness and unforgiveness to your detriment.
REMEMBER THIS: Whatever makes you hold the sins of people against them, makes God hold your sins against you.
ASSIGNMENT(S):
- Release those who offended you; let your heart be free.
- Ask God for grace to forgive where you find it difficult to forgive.
- Pray for those who offended you.
PRAYER: Father, I receive grace to forgive those who offended me. Help me to live above offences, Lord in Jesus’ Name
