TOPIC: Let God Be First (Seeds Of Destiny 23 September 2025)
SCRIPTURE: Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house; and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did aforetime. Daniel 6:10
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: You can never be stranded in life when you make God your number one priority.
MESSAGE
Sometime ago, we met a young girl who was sponsoring her siblings in school with the proceeds of prostitution. I told her, “You have to quit this lifestyle.” And she said that she had no mother, and that her father was irresponsible. Meaning, if she did not do what she was doing, nobody in her family would have anything to eat. You know what I told her? I said, “You had better die than trade with your body to make a living. That is like using blood money to eat food.” She said, “Yes sir!”
She quit that lifestyle of prostitution. At the time she quit, she was already HIV positive with blocked fallopian tubes, and all manner of afflictions. But Jehovah healed her of all of them when she repented. This happened more than Twenty-Eight years ago. She later got married to a pastor, and they have three children, and all of them are HIV negative. If you saw her and someone told you that prostitution was once her lifestyle, you would never believe it. That is how God works; He is a specialist in transforming lives.
Beloved, this is why you must seek God above everything else under heaven. Do not let anything or anyone come between you and God – not a man, not a woman, not money, not a decree from government, etc. For example, the government of the Medo-Persian Empire passed a decree that prohibited anyone from praying to God except to Darius the king. But Daniel said, “This time, I will go against the law because I must pray to my God (Daniel 6:10 paraphrased).
Thus, Daniel defied the decree, and even though he was cast into the den of lions, God brought him out unharmed. Those who conspired against him took his place in the lions’ den and they and their families were devoured by the lions (Daniel 6:23, 24).
Beloved, let nothing and no one stand between you and God. Daniel was willing to lose his life instead of disobeying God. But he never lost it. Let your relationship with God be so rigid that even if you have to lose your job because of God, you should be ready to lose it in a hurry, especially if that job is anti-God. You can never be stranded in life when you make God your number one priority.
Remember this: You can never be stranded in life when you make God your number one priority.
ASSIGNMENT(S):
- Refuse to conform to the pattern of the world. Let Christ be your standard.
- Completely surrender your life to Christ if you have not yet done that.
- Quit every ungodly lifestyle or act even if it is your “source of income.” God will bring you a better source of income.
PRAYER: Lord, I am all for You. My life is Yours and Yours alone. Lead me away from things that keep me from You, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
