TOPIC: Provoking Heaven’s Attention By Sacrifice (Seeds Of Destiny 22 August 2024)
SCRIPTURE: Gather my saints together unto me; those that have made a covenant with me by sacrifice. Psalm 50:5.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: God does not turn his Eyes away from a sacrificial person. God is attracted to the sacrificial.
MESSAGE:
Sacrifice has been confirmed to be a major way of attracting God’s attention. You can provoke God’s attention and intervention by sacrifice (Psalm 50:5).
You see, sacrificing for the cause of the Kingdom is one thing that provokes God to intervene in the lives of people.
Psalm 20:1-3 says,
The Lord hear thee in the day of trouble; the name of the God of Jacob defend thee;
Send thee help from the sanctuary, and strengthen thee out of Zion;
Remember all thy offerings, and accept thy burnt sacrifice; Selah.
When you sacrifice for the cause of the Kingdom, you provoke the intervention of heaven.
Psalm 50:14-15 says,
Offer unto God thanksgiving; and pay thy vows unto the most High:
And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.
2 Kings 4, the woman of Shunem always constrained Elisha to eat bread whenever he passed by; she even built a house for him.
And as Elijah lay in that house, he asked, “What should be done for this woman?” He prophesied and the woman who was barren before that time conceived and had a son. You see, the woman secured heaven’s intervention because of her sacrifice.
The Scripture reveals in Luke 7:4-6 that a certain centurion’s servant was sick. So, he sent two elders of the Jews to beseech Jesus to heal his servant.
4 And when they came to Jesus, they besought him instantly, saying, That he was worthy for whom he should do this:
5 For he loveth our nation, and he hath built us a synagogue.
6 Then Jesus went with them….
Jesus agreed to follow the elders to the centurion’s house to heal his sick servant because of the sacrifice of the centurion.
Beloved, do you have any sacrifice in your hand that can provoke God’s attention? Have you offered your life as a living sacrifice to God? God does not turn His Eyes away from a sacrificial person. God is attracted to the sacrificial.
Remember this: God does not turn his Eyes away from a sacrificial person. God is attracted to the sacrificial.
ASSIGNMENTS:
- Make up your mind to offer yourself as a living sacrifice to God.
- Be sacrificial towards God and His Kingdom.
PRAYER: Lord, I receive the grace to release myself to You as a living sacrifice. Help me to live a sacrificial life, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
