Dunamis Seeds Of Destiny 16 March 2025 Devotional By Dr. Paul Enenche: Staying Close To The Word Scripture
TOPIC: Staying Close To The Word Scripture (Seeds Of Destiny 16 March 2025)
SCRIPTURE: Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand. Revelation 1:3
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Staying close to the Word doesn’t just mean holding the Bible in your hand.
MESSAGE:
We live in a world of corruption and wickedness, a world where people don’t have to seek sin, but sin seeks people and hunts them down. To escape the corruption of the world, we must maintain consistent contact with the Word of God. Psalm 119:11 says, Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.
But how do we access this Word of God to benefit from it? It is by staying close to the Word! Staying close to the Word doesn’t just mean holding the Bible in your hand. It means reading, studying and meditating on the Word and letting it enter into your spirit.
For example, many years ago, while shuttling between my house and my office, I realized that I could cover up to five or ten chapters of the Bible by listening to the audio version, before getting to the office. So, even when you can’t sit down to study, you can read the Word by listening to the audio version of the Bible. And there is blessing in reading the Word of God.
Revelation 1:3 says: Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.
Someone once said, If God should forgive this generation, He would have to apologise to Sodom and Gomorrah. The truth is, no generation has had as many Christian resources available to them as this one. Anyone who goes to hell in this generation will have to explain to the Sodomites, who had no Bible. Sodom had no Bible, yet God judged them because they didn’t follow their conscience.
Therefore, beloved, stay close to the Word of God so you can maintain righteousness and uprightness in life.
Remember this: Staying close to the Word doesn’t just mean holding the Bible in your hand.
ASSIGNMENT:
- Make up your mind to stay close to the Word by reading and studying it regularly.
- Practice the Word of God so you can live above sin and the corruption of the world.
PRAYER: Father, I receive the grace to stay close to Your Word. Help me to obey Your Word so I can live above sin, Lord in Jesus’ Name.
