Dunamis Seeds Of Destiny 10 February 2026 Devotional By Dr. Paul Enenche: The Cost Of Sin
TOPIC: The Cost Of Sin (Seeds Of Destiny 10 February 2026)
SCRIPTURE: For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? – Mark 8:36
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: It pays to serve God, but it cost to serve the devil.
MESSAGE
In life, wrong or sinful desires are magnets of enemy’s attacks and destruction. A person’s wrong desires are the gateways to his destruction; a person’s wrong passion is the foundation for his temptation and humiliation. That is why you must war against any wrong passion that is trying to creep into your heart. Do not let the devil use your wrong passion as a bait to destroy you.
For some people money is a major challenge. And for others it is women or the opposite gender. They love money like Judas Iscariot. When the devil wanted to destroy Judas, he tempted him with money. But when he wanted to pull down David and Solomon, he used women.
What an animal loves to eat is usually the bait that is used to trap and kill it.
Beloved, sinful pleasure comes with a cost. The problem is that many times, the cost is heavier and higher than the reward. It can cost so much; it can even cost a person his or her life.
It pays to serve God, but it costs to serve the devil. There is no compromise without a cost. There is no sinful pleasure without pay both in time and in eternity.
Genesis 38:1-7 tells us the story of Judah who had an immoral affair with his daughter-in-law, Tamar, that was disguised as a harlot. Now, it was not Judah who said to her, “I will give you my bracelet, signet and staff.” It was the ‘harlot’ that demanded the bracelet which represents wealth and prosperity. She went on to demand Judah’s signet ring which represents identity and signature for access. And finally, she demanded Judah’s staff which represents authority and power.
Every time you settle down for iniquity, it makes demands on your life and destiny. A man can be emptied on the altar of sin. There is a demand being made on the man at the alcoholic joint. There is a demand being made on a person in an immoral relationship.
Beloved, don’t forget that there is no compromise without a cost. A person drinking alcohol may be excited for a moment, but after a while, he loses control over himself. After a while, it begins to affect his marriage and family, then his health which may progressively lead to death. People have lost their jobs, ministry, calling, destinies and lives on the platform of immoral affairs, drunkenness, stealing, etc.
Beloved, ask yourself, is that sinful pleasure worth the pay? Is that compromise worth the cost? Think about it!
Remember this: It pays to serve God, but it cost to serve the devil.
