TOPIC: The Dangers Of Guilt (Seeds Of Destiny 21 October 2025)
SCRIPTURE: The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a lion. Proverbs 28:1.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Nothing silences the voice of faith like the voice of accusation.
MESSAGE
In our Christian journey, one of the things to watch out for is the guilt of sin; it is a major enemy of every Christian. The guilt of sin is like a terminal disease to the spirit of a man, and so, it should be avoided like a plague.
Now, we are going to look at some of the dangers of guilt.
- The guilt of sin frustrates boldness in the spirit. Lies, stealing, cheating, immorality, watching immoral movies, bitterness, etc., defile the conscience, and whatever defiles the conscience deflates your confidence (Proverbs 28:1).
- Guilt is the magnet of fear (Genesis 3:7-10). Anywhere guilt is found, fear is present. And fear attracts the activity of the devil.
- Guilt establishes accusation both from the enemy and from within. Nothing silences the voice of faith like the voice of accusation. When it is time to pray, make authoritative decrees or bind the enemy, the devil who is the accuser of the brethren (Revelations 12:10) would rise to accuse anyone who is battling with the guilt of sin.
- The guilt of sin establishes weakness in the spirit. Samson was weakened by sin (Judges 16:16-20). And it is not possible to be weak in the spirit and be strong in faith.
Beloved, in this end time when the enemy is fighting the faith of God’s people, guard your heart from the guilt of sin.
Remember this: Nothing silences the voice of faith like the voice of accusation.
ASSIGNMENT(S):
- Avoid sin totally so you can escape the guilt thereof.
- Depend on God’s grace to maintain a clear conscience.
- Draw closer to God always and maintain the atmosphere of His Presence.
PRAYER: Lord, please cleanse me of every form of guilt and draw me closer to You every second of my life, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
