TOPIC: Therapy For Low Self-Esteem (Seeds Of Destiny 9 February 2026)

SCRIPTURE: And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight. – Numbers 13:33.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: No one can devalue you without your permission, and no one can esteem you without your participation.

MESSAGE

Low self-esteem is a devaluation, undervaluation, or misevaluation of self. It is called the grasshopper mentality or inferiority complex.

It is important to note that you cannot feel good about life if you don’t feel good about yourself. Low self-esteem affects people’s level of joy; it destroys joy, excitement, energy, and enthusiasm. You can never be excited if you don’t feel good about yourself. Low self-esteem destroys performance and competence.

Now, what are the causes of low self-esteem?

1. Consistent personal failures, mistakes, and errors of the past.
2. Harsh negative demeaning words from authority figures.
3. Rejection situations.
4. Unkind or uncomplimentary remarks about physical challenges or limitations.

Beloved, don’t be moved by what people say concerning your physical limitations or challenges. You are fearfully and wonderfully made. Anyone shorter than you is too short for your purpose in life, and anyone taller than you is too tall for your unique and peculiar life assignment.

Now, what is the therapy for low self-esteem?

1. See yourself as God sees you (Psalm 139:14).
2. Decide to turn your liability into an asset. There are no disadvantages in God. Anything they say is not an advantage in your life, there is an advantage in it.
3. Renew your mind with the Word of God (Romans 12:1).
4. Reject the spirit of devaluation. No one can devalue you without your permission, and no one can esteem you without your participation. So, carry yourself with a healthy self-esteem and reject every word that devalues you.
5. Avoid every climate that emphasizes your deficiency. Don’t hang around where you are tolerated.
6. Seek spiritual help to deal with the spirit of heaviness and depression. The spirit of heaviness can be addressed (Isaiah 61:3).
   Remember this: No one can devalue you without your permission, and no one can esteem you without your participation.

ASSIGNMENT(S):

1. Do all that is within your power to defend your joy; no one will do it for you.
2. Saturate your life with worship, up-beat music.
3. Avoid where you are taken for granted or devalued.

PRAYER: Thank You, Lord, for the privilege of being called Your own. Thank You for making me in Your Image. I am a royalty, the special child of the King of kings. Nothing can devalue me, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
