Seeds Of Destiny Devotional – The Danger Of Unforgiveness

Topic: The Danger Of Unforgiveness Future [Tuesday May 8, 2018]

Scripture: And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. Mark 11:25

Thought For The Day: Forgiveness can destroy sickness while unforgiveness can attract afflictions.
The Scriptures make it clear that one of the Attributes of God is His loving ability to forgive (Psalms 130:3-4). It is because of His willingness to forgive the sins of humanity that He sent His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ to die for our sins (John 3:16-18).

Unfortunately, the devil has caged many Christians through the lifestyle of unforgiveness. One of the weapons of the devil today is unforgiveness; he makes people harbour bitterness in their minds so he can truncate their destinies. Unforgiveness is dangerous; bitterness is deadly.

Now, let me give you five dangers of unforgiveness:
1. Unforgiveness attracts the ministry of tormentors
Unforgiveness attracts the ministry of tormentors (Matthew 18:34). If you do not forgive, you have given yourself to the tormentors to torment you with sickness – arthritis, ulcers and other different afflictions. Pain-inflicting demonic spirits are attracted to the one who does not forgive. That will never be your portion in Jesus’ Name. Beloved, forgiveness can destroy sickness while unforgiveness can attract afflictions.

  1. Unforgiveness invites trouble into life
Unforgiveness is the root of bitterness which invites troubles into a person’s life (Hebrews 12:15).

  2. Unforgiveness leads people to eternal damnation
Unforgiveness is a highway to hellfire (1 John 3:14). One who hates his brother is a murderer and no murderer has eternal life.
My counsel is, make up your mind never to live in unforgiveness. Receive the grace to forgive people their offenses.

Remember this: Forgiveness can destroy sickness while unforgiveness can attract afflictions.

Assignments:
1. Ask God to deal with every root of bitterness in your life.
2. Decide to forgive everyone who has offended you.
3. Develop the habit of forgiving everyone even before the offence is committed.

Prayer: O Lord, I release from my heart every form of bitterness and anger against anyone. I receive the grace to forgive them in order to receive forgiveness from You, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
