Dunamis Daily Devotional – The Tragedy Of Following The Crowd

Topic: The Tragedy Of Following The Crowd [Friday January 26th, 2018]

Scripture: But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself. Daniel 1:8

Thought For The Day: To follow the crowd is to get lost in the crowd but to take a stand for God is to stand out in life.

Sometime ago, a Christian sister was mocked by some so-called older Christians in the Lord simply because she was zealous and serving the Lord faithfully. They advised her not to ‘carry church on her head’ and that they were also born again Christians like her. That was a satanic strategy to discourage and derail new converts in the faith using supposed older people in the faith who have lost their passion for God as agents of discouragement.

So, being a person of conviction may make you appear controversial. Archbishop Benson Idahosa (of blessed memory) once said that, it is better to be controversial than to be inconsequential. It is better to be misunderstood than to die a nonentity.

Sometime ago, my wife prayed for a young lady who had a set of tattoos on her shoulder and arm but now a born again Christian. She (the lady) confessed that she drew the tattoos on her body out of ignorance. She said that she had experienced demonic harassment and oppression many times in her dreams especially when her tattooed hand was exposed. My wife told her that the tattoo was a demonic altar that demons used to carry out their operations on her life. When she was asked why she tattooed her hand, she said that she did it because everyone around her at that time was doing it and that she did not want to be left out or feel like the odd person among them.

Beloved, what anyone feels, says or does is not a determinant of who you should be or what you should become.

Beloved, to follow the crowd is to get lost in the crowd but to take a stand for God is to stand out in life.

Remember This: To follow the crowd is to get lost in the crowd but to take a stand for God is to stand out in life.
