Wisdom For The Day Devotional 30 September 2025 By Bishop Mike Okonkwo – Become Intimate With The Father
TOPIC: Become Intimate With The Father (TREM Devotional 30 September 2025)
“I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.” – John 5:30 (KJV)
MESSAGE:
Beloved, Jesus, our perfect example, lived in constant intimacy with His Father. Notice that throughout His earthly ministry, He never addressed God as “God” but as “My Father”- except at the cross, when He took our place. This shows us the depth of the intimate relationship He had with the Father.
If there is one thing God desires from you, it is that same kind of deep and personal relationship. Jesus succeeded in ministry, in business, and in life because He was always connected to His Father. That’s the secret you need to emulate.
Intimacy with God guarantees divine direction. The Father says in Psalm 32:8: “I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye” (KJV). When you stay close to Him, you will always know what to do, and you will never miss your way.
As His child, you have access to His presence and His secrets. In challenging times, intimacy with God gives you an undeniable advantage. Everything that belongs to the Father is yours, His wisdom, His abundance, His peace, His protection. This means lack, fear, and confusion are not your portion. Life will not happen to you the way it happens to others, because intimacy with the Father sets you apart.
So, ask yourself today: Am I close enough to hear my Father’s voice? Am I operating like my Father? Remember, you are not a servant begging for crumbs; you are a son or daughter with full access to the Father’s table.
