TREM Devotional – Believe In Him

Dr. Mike Okonkwo TREM

Wisdom For The Day Devotional 16 August 2022 By Bishop Mike Okonkwo – Believe In Him

TOPIC: Believe In Him (TREM Devotional 16 August 2022)

“Jesus answered, The work you can do for God starts with believing in the One he has sent” John 6:29 (TPT)

MESSAGE:

Since the fall in Eden, Man has been hung up on works. Unfortunately, no matter how hard man tries, it is absolutely impossible to please God by his works. For it is written: “For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.” (James 2:10 KJV). In other words, there is no small or big sin. Sin is sin! And the wages of sin is death. God saw the sheer helplessness of man and sent His Son, Jesus to pay the price for man’s redemption. Even when Jesus came, the question persisted: “What shall we do, that we might work the works of God”.

Jesus looked at them straight in the eye and gave them the answer. But unfortunately, up till today, many still struggle with the answer. Jesus said the work of God is this: “…..believe on Him whom He hath sent, again the word “believe” All God is asking of you is to believe Him. Take Him at His word. Be convinced that He is not a man that He should lie, neither the Son of man that He should repent (Numbers 23:19). If you believe Him totally, you will obey every word that proceeds out of His mouth.

For too long, you have tried to help yourself and failed. Why not quit trying and surrender to Him? Check through the scriptures, there has never been one person that believed in Him that was ever disappointed. To believe is to be ready to do just what He says, without trying to understand it. “Believe” is not passive. “Believe” is more than mere mental assent. To believe is to accept without any shadow of doubt and to be ready to obey without asking any question. To believe is to follow God every step of the way. To believe is not to fold your hands doing nothing. Rather, to believe is to put in your best in the assignment that He has committed into your hands. To believe is to pursue excellence because God is Excellent.
