Topic: Build Capacity To Endure [15th July 2018 Daily Devotional]
“This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come ….” 2 Timothy 3:1
The book of 2 Timothy 3:3 goes further to give us a preview of what to expect in the last days: “Without natural affection……” That is why there is homosexuality! That is why there is lesbianism! That is why there is bestiality! If you choose the path of righteousness, they will mock you. If you choose to please God and to honour Him with your life, they will see you as an odd person. They are always in the church; they are always at conventions and they can be found in anything called Christianity. When there is a conference going on, you’ll see them there with their big Bibles but their lives do not show the power of the gospel. If the gospel truly has affected anyone it must bring deliverance. The Bible describes such as “Having a form of godliness but denying the power thereof” (2Timothy 3:5) Paul warns that from such, we should turn away.
There are people you cannot partner with! There are people you cannot hang around! There are people that cannot be your friends. There should be no sentiment about eternity.
Paul then goes on to reveal the strategy for overcoming in times like this. In the book of 2 Timothy 3:10-11; Paul tells of the things that came against him and confronted him. Things came against his life, but that didn’t make him throw up his hands. He endured and God delivered him; “…….. what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me.” (2 Timothy 3:11 KJV)
Child of God, things do happen in our Christian experience. Challenges come and pressures are mounted. The enemy comes against us ferociously. His aim and target is to destroy the believer. But Paul said; I endured all these things. You also can wait on the Lord. He will surely deliver you.
