Topic: Fear Not [TREM Devotional 12 November 2018]
“And he answered, Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them.” 2 Kings 6:16 KJV
What shall we do? How am I going to eat? How am I going to pay school fees? How am I going to buy that car? And the list goes on and on. But Jesus said “take no thought saying….”(Matthew 6:31). That is how the Gentiles function but your “heavenly Father knoweth that you have need of all these things” (Matthew 6:32).
You see, one of the strategies of the devil in the midst of battle is to show you what he is doing. He capitalizes on situations and paints scary pictures. He paints pictures that are horrible to show you that you can never succeed. And it is what you do at such times that determine whether you are victorious or not. The devil functions perfectly in the sense realm. That is why the Bible emphasises that the just shall live by faith – Gal. 3:11
Notice that the first statement that came from the lips of the man of God is “Fear not”. Because once there is fear, there is an absence of faith. Once fear enters the room, faith jumps out. He didn’t even think about it, he said fear not.
Beloved, get fear out of your life if you want to enjoy the abundance of God now. Sometimes, you may not agree that you are afraid but your actions and attitude reveal that you are afraid.
Today, I want to assure you that God cannot abandon you. Make the greatest plan of your life. Put yourself in a position where if God does not bring you out, you can’t come out. That is the position that you should be in. Fear not, for those that are with you are greater and are more than they that are against you. The resources available to you are more than what you are encountering. No matter the challenges you face, know assuredly that your resources are more. The problem is that you have failed to see it. And my prayer for you today is that God will open your eyes to see.
