Wisdom For The Day Devotional 16 April 2022 By Bishop Mike Okonkwo – Give Thanks

TOPIC: Give Thanks (TREM Devotional 16 April 2022)

“It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord, and to sing praises unto thy name, O most High:” Psalms 92:1 (KJV)

MESSAGE:

In today’s text, the Psalmist states very clearly that it is a good thing to give thanks. So, thanksgiving is scriptural. The more you think about this God, the more you engage in thanksgiving. When you think of how mindful He is of you, when you think about how He saved you, how He fights your battles, both seen and unseen, you will indeed bless His Holy name. Don’t ever for one second think that it is of your doing that you are still alive. No! It is of His mercies that we are not consumed (Lamentations 3:22).

The Psalmist declares: “What shall I render to the Lord For all His benefits toward me?” (Psalms 116:12 NKJV). Indeed, what shall we render unto this God for all His benefits towards us. Even if our bodies were full of tongues, it still won’t be enough to praise this awesome, magnificent, and incredible God. He is a good God! To Him alone we ascribe all honor, power, dominion and majesty.

Over time we have learnt to differentiate between the essentials and the non-essentials. Thanksgiving is an essential part of life. That is why thanksgiving must become a lifestyle. Beyond the regular thanksgiving services in your church. make up your mind to be a person of thanksgiving. Wake up in the morning and thank this magnificent God for His goodness and mercies. Be intentional about it because He deserves it. You might be saying, what do I have to thank God for? Remember that it is of His mercies that we are not consumed. It is only the living that can still hope. The fact that you are still around is proof that it is not over with you.

This year will not end without you celebrating. The God we serve is not waiting for perfect conditions to manifest Himself in your life. He is the God above all situations and circumstances. He is the God who calls light out of darkness. Don’t cancel yourself out, prepare to celebrate because it is your time.

Evening – Luke 21:1-19

DAILY CONFESSIONS: APRIL 10TH – APRIL 16TH

The Lord gives me the seed to sow and the bread to eat. He guides me continually. He satisfies my soul in drought; he makes my bones fat. I am like a well-watered garden and like a spring of water whose waters fail not. I will build houses and live in them; I will plant vineyards and eat the fruit of them. I will not build, and another inhabits, I will not plant and another eats. I shall not labor in vain or bring forth for trouble. I will not go out in haste, nor go by flight; for the Lord will go before me and the God of Israel will be my rereward. His kindness shall not depart from me neither shall the covenant of peace be removed. (Is. 55:10; Is. 58:11, Is. 65:21-23, Is. 52:11; Is. 54:10)

Every day and in every way I am getting better: spiritually, physically, financially, mentally, morally, and in all my endeavor.

I am called for a purpose. I will fulfill this purpose and I will arrive at God’s ordained destiny for my life. Nothing will cut me short. I will make a formidable impact in my world for the Kingdom.
