Wisdom For The Day Devotional 12 September 2025 By Bishop Mike Okonkwo – Grace Will Produce The Fruits Of Righteousness
TOPIC: Grace Will Produce The Fruits Of Righteousness (TREM Devotional 12 September 2025)
“The woman then left her water pot, and went her way into the city, and saith to the men, Come, see a man, which told me all things that ever I did: is not this the Christ?” – John 4:28-29 (KJV)
MESSAGE:
Beloved, according to scripture, “Jesus must needs go through Samaria” (John 4:4). He went to that very well and waited for a particular woman, because He knew her true worth was far beyond what the devil had reduced her to. When she came, Jesus said, “Give me water to drink.” It sounded unusual, Jesus asking a prostitute for water! But Grace reached out to her, not judgment.
This woman had been used and abandoned by many men, but Jesus came and saw something valuable in her. Grace always sees what others cannot see. They labeled her a sinner, but He saw a vessel of destiny.
Their conversation deepened, and Jesus told her, “Go, call your husband.” He didn’t call her names or condemn her. He gently revealed her truth: “You have had five husbands, and the one you are with now is not your husband.” Instead of turning away in shame, she opened her heart. She thought, If He knows me completely and yet still reaches out to me, then I can trust Him.
Grace broke her defenses. Immediately, she ran into the city proclaiming, “Come, see a man who told me everything I ever did!” The same woman who once hid in shame became a bold witness.
Beloved, this is what grace does. The moment you truly receive grace, it produces the fruit of righteousness in your life. You don’t bear fruit first to earn His grace; you receive His grace, and then fruit naturally follows.
Stop struggling in your own effort. Stop trying to clean yourself before coming to Him. Yield to His grace, and righteousness will begin to flow effortlessly through you.
