Wisdom For The Day Devotional 16 June 2023 By Bishop Mike Okonkwo: Help Can Come From Anywhere And From Anyone
TOPIC: Help Can Come From Anywhere And From Anyone (TREM Devotional 16 June 2023)
“But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him, and went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him.” Luke 10:33-34 (KJV)
MESSAGE:
It doesn’t cost God anything to lift you. He owns everything! He has done it before, and He can still do it again. Unfortunately, some believers are going down deeper into the pit and they are wondering why. It is because they left Jerusalem. They are offended, and they have turned their backs on the Kingdom’s agenda. They flex muscles with God. It is time to return! Offenses must surely come but Jesus had already taken care of them. He said woe unto that man by whom the offense comes.
When a man is drowning and desperately looking for someone to rescue him, he doesn’t care where help comes from. What he cares about is another gasp of air. What he wants is to be brought out. The man who fell among thieves was probably praying that one of the brothers will soon see him and rescue him. Unfortunately, they all avoided and deserted him.
But here comes a Samaritan! Samaritans are a group of people who lived in Samaria, an area north of Jerusalem. They were half Jews and half Gentiles. The Jews and the Samaritans don’t relate. They had no relationship! So, with this background, it was ironic that the person who saw the wounded man and stopped was a Samaritan.
Beloved, don’t put a ceiling on yourself. Help can come from anywhere and from anybody. What God promised you are His blessings! He is faithful. His word stands sure forever. He always comes through. But you don’t have to know where, when, and how. Just open yourself up and receive what He has provided for you. Help will come speedily to you In Jesus’ name.
