TREM Devotional 7 February 2022 By Bishop Mike Okonkwo – Mercy Will Turn Things Around In Your Favour

TOPIC: Mercy Will Turn Things Around In Your Favour

“And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, have mercy on me, O Lord, thou Son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil.” Matthew 15:22 (KJV)

This Canaanite woman was not even supposed to receive anything, but she came and leveraged on Mercy. She was not qualified, but Mercy qualified her. “…Have mercy on me, O Lord thou son of David…” I am not qualified! It is not the time of the Gentiles. But have mercy on me. I am leaning on mercy to turn around the situation for my daughter.

They tried to push her away, but she persisted. She knew that mercy will not deny her. When the enemy comes to sweep you out of life, Mercy will say no. I want you to know that mercy is saying no on your behalf right now. Your life will not be destroyed. Your children, your marriage, your career and your profession will not be destroyed. Your back may be against the wall, but you will not be destroyed. Mercy will turn that situation around.

Blind Bartimaeus cried out for Mercy and Jesus stood and ministered to him. “And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me.” Mark 10:47 KJV. Blind Bartimaeus had been written off by men. But one encounter with Mercy changed his story forever. They tried to shut him down, but he refused to be shut down.

You must understand that Mercy is not predicated on what you did or didn’t do. It is just Mercy reaching out to you. Jesus had to stop! Why? Mercy cannot see one who latched on to him and just abandon and forsaken him. You cannot latch on to Mercy and be abandoned. Whenever you leverage on this Mercy, you will always experience a turnaround.

That situation will not kill you! It will be turned around for His glory because of God’s Mercy. So, stop focusing on your errors. And start focusing on the Mercy of God.
