Wisdom For The Day Devotional 22 June 2022 By Bishop Mike Okonkwo – Rest In The Victory Of Christ
TOPIC: Rest In The Victory Of Christ (TREM Devotional 22 June 2022)
“For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief”. Hebrews 4:10-11 (KJV)
MESSAGE:
We are called to rest. Labour to enter into that rest. We are called to rest! We are not called to fight. You may ask: What rest is this? We are called to the rest in the victory that Jesus died to give to us. It is a great exchange that was done on our behalf and the greatest honor we can do to Jesus is to begin to enjoy what He died for and not to begin to struggle to get it.
You will be surprised how many Christians are fighting the wrong battle. That is a misplaced priority. No wonder there is so much stress, anxiety, and worry. That is not God’s plan for you. Jesus knew you couldn’t fight this battle and so He came and fought the battle. He arose and declared to us: “…All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.” (Matthew 28:18). Now He wants you to go out there and begin to enforce His victory; which is the defeat of the devil. Anywhere you go, plant your feet, it belongs to you. No matter where you encounter difficulty, plant your feet because victory is already guaranteed. Hallelujah.
You are in a fixed fight. Anytime you are faced with challenges, the mentality you should have is a mentality that says: “I know how I am coming out. I know that at the end of the day that all will be well”. That should be your mentality. You may ask: Brother Mike, why are you so confident? I am confident because that is what Christianity is all about. You are called to enter the rest that Jesus has won for you. That is what Christianity is all about.
