TREM Devotional – Seek The Things That Are Above

Bishop Mike Okonkwo

Wisdom For The Day Devotional 16 March 2024 By Bishop Mike Okonkwo – Seek The Things That Are Above

TOPIC: Seek The Things That Are Above (TREM Devotional 16 March 2024)

“If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.” Colossians 3:1-2

MESSAGE:

Beloved, wake up in the morning and start with the celebration of this Jesus. God has an agenda for your life. Seek those things and set your affection on them. Stop looking down. Seek the things that are up. Seek Him! Seek what He called you. Seek the way He sees you; how He celebrates you; and how He accepts, honours, and treasures you.

The scriptures declare: “For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God; when Christ who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory” (Colossians 3:3-4 KJV). That is who you are! The purpose of sharing the realities of the new creation is to make you understand your positioning in Christ. You should be positioned to take advantage of those things that have already been accomplished on your behalf through the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

The realities of the new creation are very important. You should be a believer that bounces in life. You shouldn’t be a believer, and your life is retrogressing. There should be steady progress that everyone should see in your life.

You are not just a believer. You are alive in the world to be a kingdom witness wherever you find yourself: as a lawyer, as an accountant, as a doctor, and as an entrepreneur; whatever area you find yourself in, you become a kingdom witness through your life, making them know that there is an alternative to the way the world does things.

That is the whole essence. So, it is not enough to attend church and be fed. What is expected of you is that you will be a witness to the kingdom of God. They don’t have to look for Jesus anywhere you are. You are the Jesus they see and the Bible they read. Let your life reflect Jesus Christ everywhere you go.

DAILY CONFESSION

Blessed is the LORD: for He has showed me His marvelous kindness in a strong city. For His merciful kindness is great toward me: and His truth endures forever. I am convinced that all things work together for my good, because I love God and because I am the called according to His purpose; so I do not fret about anything; but in everything, I give thanks to God the Father. (Ps 31:21, Ps117:2, Rom. 8:28; 1Thess 5:18)

I am delivered from the strivings of the people and I am made the head of the heathens and a people that I have not known shall serve me. As soon as they hear of me they shall obey me. Strangers shall submit themselves unto me they shall fade away and shall be afraid out of their close places. I am reigning in Christ Jesus because I have received His grace in abundance… (Psalm 18:43-45, Rom 5:17).

Every day and in every way I am getting better: spiritually, physically, financially, mentally, morally, and in all my endeavours.

I am called for a purpose; I will fulfill this purpose and I will arrive at God’s ordained destiny for my life. Nothing will cut me short. I will make a formidable impact in my world for the Kingdom. Therefore, I declare that I am a person of integrity, I am spiritually fervent, and I am accountable in all I do because I’ve been raised to live the Kingdom Life here on earth.

It is my day of Great and Mighty Things!
