TREM Devotional 13 March 2022 By Bishop Mike Okonkwo – The Good Heart
TOPIC: The Good Heart
“But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.” Luke 8:15 (KJV)
The last Soil Jesus referred to in the parable of the Sower, that was productive is the good soil, which is the good heart.
The good heart is also the honest heart, that heard the word, kept it, and was able to bring fruits with patience. The good heart has put his trust in God and God alone. The good heart is focused and gives no room for weeds to grow and choke the word. The good heart is constantly weeded. It does not mean that thoughts, negative thoughts of worry will not come, but the soil is constantly weeded. The negative thoughts are not allowed to bear fruits, they are constantly countered with the word of God.
The good heart believes that whatever God says will happen. He knows God can be trusted.
The good heart is a Romans 4:17-18 person ‘’ (As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations) before Him whom he believed, even God who quickeneth the dead and calleth those things which be not as though they were. Who against hope believed in hope that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken? So shall thy Seed be” He is a follower of those who through faith and patience inherit the promise? Hebrew 6:12.
No matter what, he believes that his change will come. He says like Mary ‘’ Behold the handmaid of the Lord be it unto me according to thy word” Luke 1:38.
This does not mean that challenges will not come, no, but when it comes, he can stand, having done all to stand, he stands firmly on the word of God.
Because his heart was good, he was able to produce, because the word is incorruptible. I challenge you today to make your heart a good soil. When the negative thoughts come, conquer them with the word of God. Fill your heart with the word and stand on it and it will produce.
