TREM Devotional – The Presence Of God And Love

Bishop Mike Okonkwo

Dunamis Seeds Of Destiny 13 May 2024 Devotional By Dr. Paul Enenche: The Presence Of God And Love

TOPIC: The Presence Of God And Love (Seeds Of Destiny 13 May 2024)

SCRIPTURE: Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. – John 14:23.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The Presence of God is a comfortable and welcoming place to be because the Presence of God is the presence of love.

MESSAGE:

We once lived in a compound many years ago. In that compound, there was a woman who could be best described as an “epitome of malice” or a “malice practitioner.” I have never seen such a woman in my entire life. She was always wearing malice, anger, resentment on her face.

When children in the compound greeted her, “Good morning ma.” In response, she would say, “What is good about the morning?”
Even her own children dare not go close to her because they were afraid of her. It was very pathetic.

Beloved, the character of God is not like that. Unlike the woman in question, the Presence of God is a comfortable and welcoming place to be because the Presence of God is the presence of love.

The most comfortable place any child could be is the presence of his father or mother. As a father, if your children are not comfortable in your company, something is wrong with your paternity. Also, if you are a mother and children are not comfortable in your company, many things are wrong with your maternity.

Sometime ago, a young lady, referring to her mother, told me, “When I look at that woman, I doubt if she is my mother. I don’t believe she is my mother except that people claim she is my mother. I was pregnant for nine months, but my mother did not ask how I was fairing even for once. She did not ask how my pregnancy was and when I would be delivering, even though I had very terrible gynaecological complications. The only time she would call me was to ask for money.”

Can you see the heart of lovelessness?
Beloved, please, refuse to be heartless towards your neighbour. Wear the heart of Love. Put on the heart of Jesus Christ and fill the world around you with love and compassion.
Remember this: The Presence of God is a comfortable and welcoming place to be because the Presence of God is the presence of love.

ASSIGNMENT:

  1. Saturate your life and atmosphere with love to attract God and people to you.
  2. Refuse to live a life that scares people from you.
  3. By all means, shun hatred, malice, bitterness and unforgiveness.

PRAYER: Lord, deliver me from the plague of malice, hatred, and unforgiveness. I ask that You saturate me with your love to attract both You and the right people to me, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

QUOTE: Bitterness can be tricky to recognize because it’s not a symptom neither is it visible on the surface like anger usually is. Many claim that they are not an angry or hateful person, but that’s not what bitterness is all about. Culled from the book, “Am I Bitter?” by Dr (Mrs) Becky Paul-Enenche.

DAILY READING: Psalm 13-15.

AMAZING FACT: The thickest skin on your body is found in the feet while the thinnest is in the eyelids.

PROPHETIC WORD AND DECLARATION
The Presence of God robe your life as you receive total deliverance from bitterness, in Jesus’ Name.

Today’s devotional was written by Pastor Paul Enenche of the Dunamis International Gospel Centre (DIGC), headquartered at Abuja, Nigeria, with Pastor Paul and Becky Enenche, as the Senior Pastors. It is a power-packed arena where God’s Presence, Principles and Power are at work for the salvation, healing and restoration of human destinies and dignities.
