Wisdom For The Day Devotional 15 January 2026 By Bishop Mike Okonkwo – There Must Be A Constant Pursuit

TOPIC: There Must Be A Constant Pursuit (TREM Devotional 15 January 2026)

“Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the LORD: his going forth is prepared as the morning; and he shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth.” – Hosea 6:3 (KJV)

MESSAGE

Beloved, there must be a continual pursuit of God. Every time you think you’ve figured Him out, He reveals another side of Himself. Never come to the point where you think you’ve learned everything. God is inexhaustible.

A true Christian must keep digging into the Word, discovering themselves and their purpose in Scripture. I assure you, when God sees genuine hunger in your heart, He will fill it. He is always searching for hungry hearts to pour Himself into.

The God we serve is multi-dimensional. There are endless facets of His nature that you’re yet to experience. You can’t box Him in. The more you study His Word, the more you rest in what Christ has already accomplished for you. As the Psalmist declares, “Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them.” – Psalm 119:165 (KJV)

If you are a minister of the gospel, understand that these are not days for mere performance or entertainment. The pulpit is not a stage; it is a sacred place where eternal destinies are shaped. You cannot afford to treat that responsibility lightly. Be mindful of the One who called you, and remain faithful to that call.

Faithfulness in your service and in your pursuit of Christ is what truly matters. Material blessings are not the goal, they are simply the by-products of a faithful walk. Jesus Himself said, “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” – Matthew 6:33 (KJV)

As a believer, stop chasing after material things. They are part of the package that accompanies your salvation. Focus on Christ and His Kingdom, and everything else will fall into place. The writer of Hebrews reminds us of “the things that accompany salvation” (Hebrews 6:9).

So, beloved, keep the main thing the main thing. Pursue Christ relentlessly, and He will reveal Himself to you in ever-deepening dimensions.
