Wisdom For The Day Devotional 22 July 2022 By Bishop Mike Okonkwo – You Always Need The Word And Prayers
TOPIC: You Always Need The Word And Prayers (TREM Devotional 22 July 2022)
“Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.” 2 Timothy 4:2 (KJV)
MESSAGE:
Never allow the devil to lie to you that you can have enough of the word of God and prayers. If there was anything you need to latch on to at this time of uncertainty, instability, depression, frustration discouragement, and hopelessness, it is the word of God and prayers. You can never have enough of the word of God and prayers. This is not a time for a short word of prayer or a little talk with Jesus. No, this is a time of praying without ceasing, connecting to God, and connecting to the things of the Spirit. So that you can stay at a high level and operate in a greater dimension than the enemy.
David said in Psalms 27:13, “I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living”. In other words, if he hadn’t believed, he would have fainted. What did he believe? He believed in the word of God. Romans 10:13-16 says; “for whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they are sent? As it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them who preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things! But they have not all obeyed the gospel; for Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?” You see that again? You need to believe the report to get results. Now look at verse 17; “so then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God”. That means you will not be able to have faith to access the goodness of God if you don’t hear the word of God. When you stop hearing the word, faith goes, and fear comes.
