Wisdom For The Day Devotional 14 April 2022 By Bishop Mike Okonkwo – You Have Been Authorized To Resist The Devil
TOPIC: You Have Been Authorized To Resist The Devil
“Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” Luke 10:19 (NKJV)
Today, I have come to let you know that as a child of God, you have been authorized to resist the devil. Stop putting up with just anything. Open your mouth, and exercise your God given authority. James 4:7 tells us to resist the devil and he will flee, because you have authority. You are God’s authorized agent here on earth. You can open your mouth, and make a decree, and it will be established.
In the book of Luke 10, Jesus gathered seventy people and paired them up to go into different cities and represent him in those cities. He gave them some instructions to adhere to during their journey such as, they shouldn’t take money, and they shouldn’t greet anyone, and so on. He also told them to heal the sick in the different cities. Then Jesus said: “He who hears you hears Me, he who rejects you rejects Me, and he who rejects Me rejects Him who sent Me.” (Luke 10:16 NKJV).
The bible tells us that these seventy men came back with so much joy because of their experience in the cities. “Then the seventy returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name.” (Luke 10:17 NKJV). Their experience was completely out of this world. They had seen Jesus perform mighty miracles, deliver oppressed people, but they didn’t expect to have the same experience. And so, they were filled with joy and excitement because they had the same results Jesus had. Jesus’ response to the seventy showed that He expected nothing less. In fact, He expected them to have these results. He said to them “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.” (Luke 10:18 NKJV)
Child of God, it’s time for you to arise and begin to resist the devil in whatever area he is rearing his ugly head. God expects that you would have proofs to show of your faith in Him. He expects you to give a black eye to the enemy. He doesn’t expect you to walk around defeated, accepting whatever the enemy throws your way. No!

DAILY CONFESSIONS: APRIL 10TH – APRIL 16TH
The Lord gives me the seed to sow and the bread to eat. He guides me continually. He satisfies my soul in drought; he makes my bones fat. I am like a well-watered garden and like a spring of water whose waters fail not. I will build houses and live in them; I will plant vineyards and eat the fruit of them. I will not build, and another inhabits, I will not plant and another eats. I shall not labor in vain or bring forth for trouble. I will not go out in haste, nor go by flight; for the Lord will go before me and the God of Israel will be my rereward. His kindness shall not depart from me neither shall the covenant of peace be removed. (Is. 55:10; Is. 58:11, Is. 65:21-23, Is. 52:11; Is. 54:10)
Every day and in every way I am getting better: spiritually, physically, financially, mentally, morally, and in all my endeavor.I am called for a purpose. I will fulfill this purpose and I will arrive at God’s ordained destiny for my life. Nothing will cut me short. I will make a formidable impact in my world for the Kingdom.
