Wisdom For The Day Devotional 24 January 2023 By Bishop Mike Okonkwo – You Have Been Perfected By A Better Hope

TOPIC: You Have Been Perfected By A Better Hope (TREM Devotional 24 January 2023)

“For the law made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope did; by the which we draw nigh unto God” Hebrews 7: 19 (KJV)

MESSAGE:

We are believers. That is who we are. We believe what God calls us whether we look like it or not or whether we are behaving like it or not. When God calls you, why does He call you what you have not manifested? Because in His mindset, you are already what He calls you. He wants you to put on that mindset. Let the weak say I am strong. Why did He say so? He said so because as far as He is concerned, irrespective of how weak you are; in Heaven, you are already strong.

Empowered are those who have not seen but they believe. They feel pain in their body, no food in their meal barrel and their pockets are empty, but they believe. All things are possible to him that believes.

The book of Hebrews 7:19 says: “For the law made nothing perfect”. You say you want to follow the law strictly; God says the law made nothing and no one perfect. Some people believe that trying to obey the law is what brings perfection. That is false! The law makes nothing perfect, “but the bringing in of a better hope did…”. What is that better hope? Jesus! It is Jesus that gave us access that enables us to come boldly before God.

“For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second.” (Hebrews 8:7 KJV)

There would be no need to establish a second one if the first was faultless. God who gave the law said, I found fault in it. God has put His law in your heart, so you can go beyond the letters of the law. He will not remember your sins. Never! Sin has been dealt with. Don’t be sin conscious. Don’t wake up in the morning and begin to think of sin. God is not thinking of sin. His mind is full of positive things about you.
