Wisdom For The Day Devotional 16 April 2023 By Bishop Mike Okonkwo: Your Hair Will Grow Again
TOPIC: Your Hair Will Grow Again (TREM Devotional 16 April 2023)
“But the Philistines took him, and put out his eyes, and brought him down to Gaza, and bound him with fetters of brass; and he did grind in the prison house. Howbeit the hair of his head began to grow again after he was shaven.” Judges 16:21-22 (KJV)
MESSAGE:
The scripture tells us how Samson was humiliated and put down. And his enemies were mocking and ridiculing him in their coven. The same Samson that terrorized the Philistines had now been reduced to nothing.
They put out his eyes! No more vision! They took him to Gaza! No more freedom! No more liberty! He was kept in the prison house to grind. Total humiliation! The Philistines were able to arrest Samson and do all these things to him because his hair was cut.
As a Nazarite, he had a covenant with God that forbade the cutting of the 7 locks of hair on his head. The 7 locks represent the rest. As long as Samson was resting in his Nazarite’s anointing, power was flowing. When the locks were shaved off, the power stopped flowing. There was no account in the scriptures that Samson told God to restore his hair. Nevertheless, God had mercy upon him and his hair, which was the source of his strength and anointing, began to grow.
For too long, your hair had been shaved, but I want to announce to you that your hair is growing again. Samson’s anointing was restored as his hair began to grow and stepped once again to do exploits. He prayed: “Then Samson prayed to the Lord, “Sovereign Lord, remember me again. O God, please strengthen me just one more time. With one blow let me pay back the Philistines for the loss of my two eyes.” Then Samson put his hands on the two centre pillars that held up the temple. Pushing against them with both hands, he prayed, “Let me die with the Philistines.” And the temple crashed down on the Philistine rulers and all the people. So he killed more people when he died than he had during his entire lifetime.” (Judges 16:28-30 NLT)
Let every structure of the devil in any area of your life be pulled down. Your hair will grow again, and you will do greater exploits.
