TREM Devotional 20 February 2022 By Bishop Mike Okonkwo – Your Heritage Is Favour
TOPIC: Your Heritage Is Favour
“Therefore, having been justified on the principle of faith, we have peace towards God through our Lord Jesus Christ; by whom we have also access by faith into this favor in which we stand, and we boast in hope of the glory of God.” Romans 5: 1-2 (KJV)
Your heritage is favour. That is where you belong. It is your birthright. It is your benefit. It is your legacy. It is what God has given to you. But unfortunately, many do not understand it. You see, understanding is very important in our work with God. Understanding is very critical. You see, there are things that we already have as children of God. Ignorance is one of our challenges. Your mountain is your failure to understand what God has already made available to you. Your failure in life is a result of what you have that you do not value. You do not know that it is available to you. How can you value what you do not know you have.
According to Psalm 49:20: “Man that is in honor, and understand not, is like the beasts that perish.” (Psalms 49:20 KJV). When you don’t know it, it is like a beast that perishes. Our defeat is a result of ignorance. We must, therefore, seek to understand what has already been done. We have a responsibility to search the scriptures to discover what has been made available to us in Christ.
In Christ’s favor is part of your heritage. When we talk about favor, we are talking about divine approval. Favor is God giving you preferential treatment. Favour is an act of kindness beyond what is due or usual. Favour also means divine acceptance. In Christ, God has divinely accepted you. If no man accepts you, God the owner of the universe has already accepted you.
The favor of God will terminate the toils, the struggles, the pains, and the frustrations of many years. The favor of God brings divine settlement. I stand in faith with you that this is your moment of divine settlement. The favor of God will bring it to pass.
