Wisdom For The Day Devotional 9 February 2025 By Bishop Mike Okonkwo – Your Redeemer Is Gracious
TOPIC: Your Redeemer Is Gracious (TREM Devotional 9 February 2025)
“For the LORD God is a sun and shield: The LORD will give grace and glory: No good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.” (Psalms 84:11 KJV)
MESSAGE:
Looking at today’s scriptural text, my mind goes to a young, poor, and weak lady in the Bible, by the name Ruth. Ruth was powerless when she got to the land of Bethlehem-Judah. She did not know any person. She just went with Naomi. She had said to Naomi: “…Intreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee: for whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God:” (Ruth 1:16 KJV)
Ruth was saying: You have introduced me to this awesome God. He is more important to me than anything else. And so, when she got to Bethlehem-Judah, the first farmland she went into to look for food was the farmland of a rich man called Boaz. She got in there and found favour in the eyes of Boaz. Boaz was her kinsman redeemer. When she came back from the farmland of Boaz, her mother in-law told her what to do in other to obtain rest on every side. She said, dress up look good, rub good oil and good perfume, go and stay at the feet of Boaz. Unfortunately, many people misinterpret that scripture. They don’t understand that according to the Jewish tradition in those days, what her staying at feet of Boaz meant was simply saying to Boaz, redeem me. I cannot help myself, but I know you can redeem me. That was what she was saying to Boaz.
And Boaz said, “And now, my daughter, fear not; I will do to thee all that thou requirest: for all the city of my people doth know that thou art a virtuous woman.” (Ruth 3:11 KJV) He says I will do it for you; I will do for you what you have requested.
Beloved, your Redeemer will always be gracious to you. He treats you with grace; unmerited, undeserved, unearned. His grace has kept you, and by reason of grace, your expectations shall be exceeded.

DAILY CONFESSION
This is the day which the Lord hath made; I will rejoice and be glad in it. I am blessed coming in; I am blessed going out, there shall no evil befall me, neither shall any plague come nigh my dwelling, for God has given His angels charge over me. They keep me in all my ways. No weapon formed against me will prosper, for my God will not allow evil plots and false accusations to prevail against me. But whatever I do I will prosper in them because I am like a tree planted by the rivers of water which brings forth it’s fruits in season, (Psa. 118:24, Deu. 28:6, Psa. 91:10-11, Isa 54:17, Psa. 1:1-3).
I lack no good thing because My God supplies all my needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus. I have all sufficiency in all things and abound to all good works, for my God has made all grace abound toward me. Today, I am filled with the love of God. I am filled with the joy of the Lord and I am filled with the peace of God, (Phil. 4:19, 2Cor 9:8, Gal. 5:22).
Every day and in every way I am getting better: spiritually, physically, financially, mentally, morally, and in all my endeavours.
I am called for a purpose; I will fulfill this purpose and I will arrive at God’s ordained destiny for my life. Nothing will cut me short. I will make a formidable impact in my world for the Kingdom. Therefore, I declare that I am a person of integrity, I am spiritually fervent, I am accountable in all I do because I’ve been raised to live the Kingdom Life here on earth.
It is my day of Rest!
