Topic: Your Faith-Response To The Word [Saturday October 28, 2017]
For no word from God shall be void of power (Luke 1:37 ASV).
God’s Word comes to you with the power to produce in you the message it bears. His Word never comes empty; howbeit, you must receive it in faith and respond accordingly. That was what Mary did when the angel of the Lord brought her the message from God that she would give birth to the Saviour, Jesus. She said, “…Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word…” (Luke 1:38).
She trusted the message; she believed it and responded in agreement, and it worked. That’s how you respond to God. The Bible says, “…He hath said…so that we may boldly say…” (Hebrews 13:5-6). Your faith-response is what you say as a result of God’s Word that comes to you. God didn’t give us His Word just so we can believe it, but most essentially, that we can respond to it. So, you can make your personal faith-proclamations on the basis of His Word.
It’s the affirmation of it that produces results.
For example, the Word says, “Christ in you, the hope of glory” (Colossians 1:27). Your faith-response, therefore, should be, “Christ is in me; therefore, in my ministry, in my health, in my finances, in my family, job, business, academics, and in all that concerns me, the glory of God is manifest! I walk in the excellence and glory of Christ; there’s no reproach in my life!”
Psalm 23:4 says, “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me….” Your faith-response should be, “No matter the evil or adversities, I triumph over them, because greater is He that’s in me than he that’s in the world.”Hallelujah!
Make the Word effectual in your life, with your faith-response.
