Break The Yoke Of Idolatry ~ Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor

Topic: Break The Yoke Of Idolatry [Tuesday 23, May 2017]

“Now the works of the flesh are … Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry … they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God” (Gal 5:19-21).

Idolatry is a work of the flesh that has a firm stronghold on those that practice it. Many people serving idols want to stop it but cannot. They just find themselves going deeper into it.

In 1977 or thereabout, a couple that had four children came to me. Before they came, their eldest child took ill. An adviser took them to a woman who was at that time very famous in Sapele, Delta State then. She had a parrot that spoke on her behalf. Her verdict after the couple paid the usual consultation fee and gave her a fowl was that the child would die. True to her prediction, when they got home the child died. The same thing happened with the second and third child.

When the fourth child took ill, they declared, “If this last one must die, let it be in the church!” They rushed to me in desperation, and I told them the good news of the saving and healing grace of Jesus Christ. I said to them, “In Jesus name, this one will not die!” Thanks be to God, today the couple have four children, including the one who almost died.

Preach the Word of God all you can to people who are under the yoke of idolatry, they will not pay attention to you. They will maintain that their grandfather served idols so they would not stop. Sadly enough, their lives do not experience any progress .They are under a yoke. It is the manifestation of the flesh.

In the name of Jesus, today is your day of victory over the flesh!

Word of Wisdom: The formula that will help you walk above flesh is, ‘walk in the Spirit’.

Prayer/Confession: Father, I won’t die in Idolatry. I confess my sins and come out of it, in Jesus’ name. Idol of my parent’s house, leave me alone I’m for Jesus Christ.
