Christian Character ~ Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor

Topic: Christian Character [Thursday May 25, 2017]

Now the works of the flesh are … Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry … they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. (Gal 5:19-21)

Many church folks are full of hatred. They are experts in strife, quarrelling and keeping malice. Some of them deserve honorary degrees in the works of the flesh. The devil knows that the flesh is your weakest point and he capitalizes on it to defeat you.

When the devil wants to defeat a man, he pulls him to war in the flesh. The devil does it very subtly. For instance, when news reach you from your village that your enemies are about to launch a serious attack against you and that your attention is needed by a renowned juju priest in order to avert the threat of imminent danger or death, it is a snare to pull you into a war. If, out of fear, you send money home, in the pretext that you are a Christian who does not go to a juju house, you are the looser – your money represents you. The devil has defeated you. On such occasions, you must take authority and dominion through fasting and prayer – and “Walk in the Spirit.”

When your in-laws gang up against you, don’t go abusing and fighting them. Don’t show them hatred. If you do, you have fallen in the spirit and lost the battle! Don’t fall low to the point of quarrelling and fighting with your troublesome neighbour, colleague, or customer.

No battle you face can be won with man-made weapons. The God you serve is a Spirit. If you handover your battle to Him and walk in the spirit you are a winner.

Word of Wisdom: When the devil wants to defeat a man, he pulls him to a war in the flesh.

Prayer/Confession: Father, give me grace to defeat the character flaw in my life, in Jesus’ name.
